brit......well I wasn't trying to conceive. I had a copper IUD in but it came out.......and now I'm pg as a result. So i guess I'm still in shock. Really I knew before I got the BFP though - I felt different.

brit - my period was about 10 days late.....it was only a faint line even then.

I tested negative at 5 weeks since last period but still felt weird, positive at 6 weeks.

But there were a couple of reasons - one is that my cycle's both a bit long and irregular. When I had a scan at 11+2 on LMP, sonographer said I was 9+4 weeks pregnant. This makes a lot of sense to me, more so than the scan supposedly confirming LMP date as in first pregnancy.

That doesn't apply in your case though, I don't know if you know where in your cycle you last had sex (I can't remember dates but do remember thinking it was towards the end of the time when it might be possible, was surprised when it turned out to have happened).

TO NEMOANDTHEFISHES...did the dr tell u why your hpt were coming out neg for so long? what symptoms if any did u have?

with ds I had bleeding on going for couple of weeks so GP sent me for a scan as had neg tests so he thought MC with complications..Ds was in there and I was 7wks..didnt show positive until 9wks as I tested nearly everyday

i never had a positive with dd.

had to be scaned to confirm preg as my uterus was tilted so far back they couldn't tell with an internal exam either.

my hcg levals were 18 at 9 weeks.... that's technically negative.

Hello all i'm new to this site. I am convinced i am prego. my lower back throbs everyday especially when i bend to pick something up. I have had several neg hpt and 1 neg blood test. My last depo shot was due May 29 however i didn't get it because i am ttc. i was only on it for 1 cycle (12 weeks) and each month i still got my period. even in june i still had a period and now nothing. I KNOW I'M PREGNANT AND NOW I'M JUST WAITING FOR THAT BFP!!!!

My story is identical to Amberflower's - I tested and tested and tested but didn't get a BFP until I should have been 8 weeks pg - the BFN's included a blood test at the GP! We went for my scan thinking I was 13 weeks but was only 11 weeks. DD was born 4 days after her adjusted due date so the scan dates must have been correct.

I had come off the pill one cycle before the cycle I conceived. I wasn't charting or temping or whatever so I have no idea when I ovulated - must have been very late in that cycle.

Well two more days before I test - its killing me!!!!

Two new symptoms to my symptom spotting list:

1. Very wet during sex

1. So so tired, I dont drink coffee and just had to have one to get me through the afternoon. I think i read somewhere you should drink no more than 3 cups of coffe a day or 6 cups of tea.

I could close my eyes now and sssssssssssssssssssleep!

Plus next week when I test, if I see a neg than its also time that I think I would be ovulating and so i can get trying again.

Your story is mad - but I guess it was because you had come off the pill three months earlier.

I've not been on the pill for many years.

When I conceived my son, I tested around the time my period was due - had come off the pill some three months earlier and had 3 cycles each around 28 days. So I tested at day 28 and every three days or so thereafter. Nothing, no BFP but no period either.

Went to the doctor who suggested waiting at least another WEEK!! but that's what I did in the end, and got BFP a good 15 days after the date I'd thought my period would have been due.

When we went for the 13 week scan there was the baby...but I was only 11 weeks pregnant. I'd actually ovulated and conceived around day 28 - which was when I'd thought my period was due! Obviously a very strange cycle that month, but the baby's now a vibrantly healthy four year old having a strop about bathtime, so just goes to show that your body can do odd things but still function perfectly well!

Good luck, anyway. Since that baby we've been enduring a 2.5 year struggle to conceive a second child, including 2 MCs, and I know exactly what it's like to hope so badly that you're pregnant that you almost hallucinate the symptoms...I hope you get the result you want x

In a small cases there are women who don't produce high levels of the hormones released during pregnancy so some women don't get a positive for ages. It's rare though I think, a bit like having a 'period' all the way through a pregnancy is rare.

ITs strange because with DS and with my MMC I didnt show as being pregnant until 9wks or so on a test but with dd1 she showed 9 days before AF was due and dd2 showed 2 days before..all of them were with cheap ebay etests.

Do you know why some people do not test pos until later?

Just wondering especially with people getting positives up to 6 days before they are due af.

I dont think I will ever test before I am due again, it just causes heartache and you probably spot a lot more chemical pregnancies that you never would have known about if you waited to test after your af was due

My boobs are not feeling as sensitive as they were but in both my other pregnancies they didnt and they didnt grow either - how unlucky for me!!!

Went out last night and I couldnt drink and I honestly was trying to just to relax. I dont want to live like i am pregnant because there is a strong possibilty I am not. But only hadf one.

Just feel very tired and today I look quite healthy - clear skin, only time i normally have noce skin.

I will wait for six weeks.

ellasmum1 - had period for five days but only 2.5 days was light and the rest either nothing or spotting. we'll see x
