Okay so I've been off sick this week so far due to a really bad back, been to the docs and had urine tests and some blood tests today but they are pretty certain it's just baby stretching my muscles and putting a lot of pressure on my small frame (I'm 23 weeks).
Anyway, I really get on well with my line manager and have kept her up to date with everything and I will say she has been nothing but lovely.
The problem I'm currently having- and I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong for feeling this way- is that I've suffered with a bad back for a few weeks now and all last week when at work I was really uncomfortable and my work chair was making things so much worse (I'm sure it's the cause of my back being so bad!). Then, in my risk assessment that was only carried out last week (is that right???!!!) my manager mentioned to me she's going to get me a new chair ASAP as she can see how much pain I'm in atm with current one.
Anyway, I had a really bad weekend with my back and ended up calling in sick yday and today. She was so understanding and lovely so my problem isn't there at all.
My problem is that tonight when I've given my manager an update over messages about what doctors have said and asked if my new chair is there for me yet she replied saying no but she will chase it tomorrow (can't have ordered it yet!!) but would unofficially advise me to take the next few days off if I can (I only work 4 days a week) as I will only be in pain if I come in. That's all good and well but I don't get paid for time off and would have come back if my new chair and back support was there!!!!!
AIBU in feeling as though I have no choice here? I feel a bit peed off that they haven't arranged this and I'm now losing out on another days pay. I'll get paid for 4th day which isn't so bad.
I don't know if it's just my hormones getting the better of me and me feeling sorry for myself.
