Talk to me about your cervix...

Hello!

I'm pregnant and I am doing all I can to avoid a CS this time round as I really want another two children after this one (I have one DC already).

Pregnancy #1 ended up in CS at 42w as I had a cervix that was basically clamped shut, even after 3 prostaglandin pessaries. They could t even get into break my waters.

Pregnancy #2 ended in miscarriage at 11w and wound up in a surgical termination as my cervix wouldn't open and allow "the product" through.

Have any of you had any kind of similar experiences and have you managed to deliver vaginaly?

Posting here as I'm just wondering if I have an incredible unopening cervix or not.

Apologies in advance to those reading this whilst eating their dinner xx

I've had my cervix dilated 4 times for ivf in 3/4yrs

I'm 37w today and conviced when they induce me that I won't open enough and will end up having a cs

I haven't got personal experience of this but I wonder if you might consider alternative therapies? Acupuncture, reflexology, that kind of thing? Assuming you've seen a gynaecologist and/or obstetrician and they have no other suggestions about why it happens and what to do about it.

I was induced twice with dd1, 14 hours later and cervix not opened even a little bit.
Dd2 I was having regular bh coming every 4 minutes, this was going on for a couple of days at least. I went into Mau for reduced movement and started having painful contractions straight away. They checked my cervix to see if they could break my waters. Cervix was not open at all. I'm expecting no.3 soon and I have a feeling same thing will happen again.

I really think mine won't dilate and will end up having a cs

I suspect the same of mine, but I want to give it a shot. This baby is breech at the moment so may not even have a chance to try.

Oh, I thought this was a thread nobody had answered, good to see replies!

I know I am wayyyyyyy ahead of myself but I'm desperate to avoid a CS for no other reason than to keep my uterus as unscarred as poss.

Is it possible to get the syncotocin drip when waters haven't broken?

I'm not sure if you can have a drip.if you ever had a previous c section. My consultant said no to induction.
