Baby lying transverse at 37 weeks

I've been told if the baby is still in this position in my scan on Thursday I'll be admitted straight away in case my waters break.

I understand the risks but don't want to be away from dcs over xmas, and I don't want to be a bother to nurses etc when there's nothing wrong with me.

Anyone got any experience not being admitted straight away?

DD was lying with her feet pointing down at 38 weeks just before Christmas and I had to stay in hospital for a few days. The consultant didn't even want me to go home and pack a bag. To be honest once I knew the risks I wouldn't have felt comfortable being at home. And as she was baby number 4 they were worried that the birth could have been early and quick.

Had a lovely rest in hospital and knitted some baubles for the Christmas tree while I was there

Thanks for that it gives me hope that they didn't admit you til 38 weeks cause even going in after the weekend is preferable.

Ds1 has been having problems at school so just want to have my happy Christmas with him and his brother before dds arrival

Have you tried Moxibustion, and all the exercises on the spinning babies website? I also did handstands on the bottom of the swimming pool, and crawled around the house on my hands and knees to try and get her to move. It's very rare for them not to move on their own, but mine turned out to have the cord wrapped right around her body, essentially trapping her in that position. Her head was literally wedged in the right side of my ribs too. It was the most uncomfortable thing in the world (she was 9.5lb!!)

Hi OP, this happened to me 3 years ago. DD was transverse from 34 weeks and was still transverse all the way til the end so I was admitted at 38 weeks. Sadly this included Christmas and New Year (DD was delivered on 3rd Jan 2014). She was our first so I didn't have any kids at home, which will be hard, but it wasn't too bad. I just sat around watching DVDs in bed waiting for my C-section, watching scores of people coming and going through the antenatal ward! It's the safest place to be as cord prolapse is fatal for the baby. Good luck! xx

It's just there's nothing to plug your cervix so could lead to cord prolapse which is risky. She's been like this for weeks but there's no sign of her turning now

Oh really? Why is that? My baby is sideways too, but I'm 34 weeks. Is this bad...?
