Gym ball

Have purchased a gym ball to sit on, a 65cm one, but I can't get it to inflate properly it's currently half the size it should be and no matter how much I pump it doesn't get any bigger. Any tips?? Thanks!

Get someone else to blow it up whilst you pop your feet up :D

The instructions on mine said to blow up as much as possible then leave overnight and resume the following day to get it to its full size.

They're great for bouncing the baby to sleep when it's born too. Grin

I've only for mine out with 2 months to go, as sitting on sofa is uncomfortable now.

I used one before pregnancy at gym for core/butt work and in place of a weights bench.

I use my new home one more for my back, sitting on it and doing hip rotations to loosen everything up. No idea what else you're meant to do with it antenatally!

Whenever you feel like sitting on it, really. You'll come to a point when sitting on chairs is uncomfortable, and sitting on - or leaning over - the ball is an easier way to spend the evening.

You might also want to use the ball for pregnancy yoga positions. I used mine throughout pregnancy both times, from pretty much the beginning - but then I used a gym ball for core stuff before I was pg anyway, so was used to having it around the house.

I really started using it to sit on, regularly, from around 28 weeks I would think. When I started getting very big and my hips hurt.

Sorry no advice this end. I just wondered how far along do you start using birthing ball?

Have you tried using a track pump? It's the floor one you stand on and I find they stop the air coming back out whilst you're pumping. Had to get DP to sort mine :)
