Big baby and excess fluid

Hi all,
I'm 34+5 and went last Friday for a growth scan. Baby is weighing in at an estimated 6lbs 2oz and I have 26.1cm of fluid. The lady who did my ultrasound said that there was quite a bit of fluid and baby looked big so the doctors would go through it with me.
I went to see a consultant who didn't seem bothered at all. I am booked in anyway for a section at 39 weeks but he has made me feel really anxious that my waters may break early due to the extra fluid which one minute he was fine with and the next he says they could go early. He said if they do I just go to hospital and have an emergency c section.
Has anyone else been through this sort of thing and any advice?
X

My ds was born at 41 weeks via csection as he was found to be very big at 40 week scan. He was just under 10lb 7. At the csection they were also surprised at the amount of waters! I was tested for gd at 26 weeks with current pregnancy and no problems found. Just wanted to reassure you that all can be fine - as was in my case. Waters did not go and he was (and still is) a very healthy boy. Best of luck.

Did they offer you a new GTT test? I was told at 27 week scan that my baby's abdomen was at the high end as was amniotic fluid - sure enough, 28 week test = GD.

Not hyperemesis - sorry, polyhydramnios - long day!

Hello! My last dc was born at 10lb 4oz and I had hyperemesis (allegedly) throughout the pregnancy. At scans the size of the baby was never mentioned, only the extra water.

I had to be induced 5 days over and there was little water so I think it was mostly big baby!! To do it again I would book a c-section, the only problems I had was a lot of tightenings and braxton hicks from quite early on but nothing came of it apart from looking like I was about to have triplets.
