Pregnancy

Not feeling pregnant

Hello all,

I am 9wks PG and a bit anxious after having a MC last year at 10+4. Last time round I felt pregnant - a bit nauseous in the mornings, quite hormoney-moody, and just generally different. I stopped feeling pregnant at about 9wks and soon after that started bleeding a bit, then miscarried. This time round I have not felt any different at all and if it weren't for the pregnancy test and the lack of periods I would not have thought that I was pregnant. I am quite worried that things are not developing as they should and that the same thing will happen again. I haven't mentioned this to DH because he is absolutely beside himself with happiness and I don't want to bring him down when I might be getting worried about nothing. Any thoughts?

I'm very sorry to hear that jam. I hope your DH is being supportive and you both look after yourselves as best you can.

Oh jam,

That is awful - I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Do everything you can to look after yourself and just be as kind to yourself as possible in the next few weeks.Flowers

It was a missed MC, unfortunately. Confirmed today but apparently despite the fact that the lack of any embryo at all in the sac is absolutely blindingly obvious even to a layman from the ultrasound pictures, a 'local protocol' means that they can't do a medical MC or the surgical method but have to send me home for five days, then get me back for another scan, then, if I haven't MCed naturally, discuss my 'options' with me. I am naturally delighted at the prospect of spending the next few days at work wondering if I am going to MC from one moment to the next.

Hi jam, can you organise an early scan to have a look? That set my mind at ease in the early days. I had a mmc at 12 weeks last year so understand your fear. I am now 28 weeks with my second pregnancy and even though I have seen our baby, have the scans and can feel them moving around in there and can see my stomach moving when the baby moves, sometimes I still don't feel pregnant. Best of luck, it's natural to worry but the chances are that all will be well with this pregnancy Flowers

Thanks very much everyone - feeling reassured and will look into booking a private scan so I don't have to wait another three weeks to find out what's going on! Bree - love the relaxed baby! DH is the most chilled out person in the world (unlike me) so he/she is probably kicking back with a beer in there!

Flowers poor you, I hate early pregnancy!

I didn't feel pregnant for my whole pregnancy, which was probably good in some ways but did cause some problems in that I couldn't actually believe a baby was coming! DS was absolutely fine and is now 7 weeks old and very chilled :) it must be scary given your past experience but I reckon you've just got a relaxed baby in there who is being kind to you and not making you feel rotten!!

I instinctively knew with my first miscarriage that something wasn't right as my symptons had faded at around 9 weeks and a missed miscarriage was later confirmed at 12 weeks.
pregnancy after miscarriage is terrifying but remember every pregnancy is different, so there may be no cause for concern at all.
As it's worrying you, I think it'd be beneficial to call your Early Pregnancy Support Centre to ask for advice. They may get you in for a scan or blood tests to check HCG levels. But don't sit and worry. Your DP would much prefer you were honest and shared this concern.
Please let me know how you get on.

No thoughts, but just to let you know I felt the same as you. I didn't have sickness or anything. No moodiness. I was more tired and I think my boobs hurt for a short time. Not everyone experiences symptoms, so try not to worry about it too much, although I'm sure that's nigh on impossible! Also very sorry to hear about your MC last year Flowers. Congrats on the pregnancy though! :)
