4.5 is freaking big. I know one came out my fanny. The guy is a prize dickhead. Make a complaint. Speak to PALS and get someone to make it clear that he should never come near you again.
I despair at shit like this when there really are amazing OBs out there working for women to assist them in birthing thier babies rather then being on some bullshit power trip fuckwattage.

Omg! That's awful! Now I'm scared as I was hoping to have an elective cs with this baby as my first was 4.6kg and this one also looks huge. (And for what it's worth- there are a lot of complications that go along with giving birth to a bigger baby) I think you should complain and I would be tempted to bring in a 4.5kg watermelon on your next appointment and tell him to shove it up his @£&#% and not make a 'fuss'.... Since he's such a strapping tree trunk of a man he should be able to 'handle it'....what a knob!

OMGoodness that is right out of order. Definitely complain! I also kept getting told that my last one 'wasn't that big', but wtf difference does that make when you had a 3rd degree tear because she was born with her arm up by her face??

Sadly it is a common trend I fear, mine said the two complications did not make me high risk but the fact I was a fat first time mum (bmi 23) made me need hospital care with constant monitoring!

I would complain and ask for the first one again!

I had one massage his ego by - clearly off the top of his head- upping the risk on everything the (more senior) consultant had said about my high-risk pregnancy. Yeah. Making a pregnant woman scared must make him feel so clever.

...as I was with DD, so under consultant care. The first consultant I saw was lovely - kind, warm, reassuring, exactly what you want in a doctor. The one I saw today, however:

• told me I'd "made quite a performance" with my last labour.
• on discussing why I'd ended up having an EMCS after 24 hours in labour, said "4.5 kilos isn't that big, you should've been able to manage that"
• and followed that up with "you're a strapping lass anyway, you should be able to deliver the next one naturally even if it's bigger" - I'm 5'8" with a BMI of 24, so hardly Godzilla!
