We need a new thread.

I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

I used to include extracts from MOH's wonderful website

but I think that makes this link less visible so am merely putting the link. The information on this site is invaluable.

I would like to thank MOH MOP Ovaltine Caramellokoalalover (I think she's changed her nickname) Fluffy, Horsey Kali and Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on previous threads.

Wash and go, that's great news! I'm on same combo although had to cut back on Metaclophamide as it makes me feel worse. Sorry about spd!

Oh! That makes sense...sorry you're feeling so rough room. I'm ok thanks Lucinda. Only seem to feel sick in past few days when I let myself get hungry. Problem is I have no idea what to eat! Everything sounds gross except milk...which I still can't drink. Lots of dry retching but no actual vomiting. Fingers crossed hG is passing! And for you too room!

Grrr, I have to go to see the GP on Thursday to get more ondansetron at 09:30! I know it's not that bad really but I want to sleep then! It should be DS's first extra Thursday in nursery and I was looking forward to being lazy.

MOP I'm only 13 weeks so it's possible that HG will pass and become a distant memory before long

Hello all! Long long time since I've posted but just wanted to pop on and say hello. I'm 29 weeks now, and still have nausea but no vomiting. Combination of cyclizine and metoclopramide really worked for me in those awful hg days. Ive just been signed off work due to spd (not that ds age 4 or dd age 2 are likely to let me put my feet up!). Really very best of luck to those of you still suffering with sickness.

It's so bad to hear this Room. I had convinced myself and my DP that if I ever had a 3rd DC (!) it would be OK because I'd get ondansetron from the start and so HG wouldn't be an issue. Now I realise from what you and others on the thread have said than ondansetron can massively reduce the vomiting, but is not a cure-all by any means. Depressing. In some ways the worst part of HG is the 24/7 nausea and the rough, exhausted feeling, although obviously it's the actual vomiting that lands you in hospital.
Hope everyone else coping OK today.

Meds stop almost all of the vomiting if I rest enough. But I feel rough all of the time and every time I try to do anything, I start retching. Even climbing the stairs is hard work. I know that this is loads better than vomiting everything all the time, I just thought that I would feel properly better and able IYSWIM?

Room Hugs. How wearying... Seeing someone with Hyperemesis should teach the student Health Visitor a lot, but it is not nice for you. How are the meds working now?
Reebok I hope not suffering from yesterday's exertions, though no doubt still ?

I want to go back to bed. Rough night with a cough whenever I lay down. I did not need that. Trying to work up to having a shower...

Bad day today. I have to endure the HV coming to do DS's 2 year check in the morning and our 'transfer in' with a student HV.

Thank you ladies...you're right MOP. Seeing my baby made HG worth it! Although last time I suffered from it and still had a mmc so don't think sickness always guarantees a healthy pregnancy. Room, it's an amazing feeling. Am on a high today!

Reebok, I'm so happy for you, that's great news! You must be so relieved. One of the few (only?) benefits of HG is that it normally means the baby is thriving and very healthy, oddly. It really does help to be reminded about what all the sickness and misery are for. :)

I'm so happy! Baby is doing fine. Heard the heartbeat and saw it wriggling around! I'm never seen anything more amazing in my life! Nothing can stop me smiling now :)

Reebok just tell them you tried but you have HG and couldn't keep it down. By this point you don't need a very full bladder and if you really can't manage at all and they can't see baby well, you may just have to put up with a TV scan. Where I was scanned, they don't even tell you to try drinking lots before or to have a full bladder.
