Pain under right rib and back

I'm 30+2 and baby has been upside down, bum parked under my ribs since 28 weeks. I sit down all day at work and being short/having a short body means I'm in pain every day! I've noticed bump grow over the past couple of weeks and now it hurts even more. I can feel baby's bum sticking out and although I feel well in myself, I can't concentrate due to the constant dull ache. Does anyone have any top tips to ease the pain or am I just going to have to grimace and bear it for the next 9 weeks?

Put a rolled up towel in the small over your back when sitting. Roll ur shoulder back and your ribs will move up. Don't sit down for too long. Get up and rock ur his side to side to encourage the head to move down.
It is a terribly uncomfy time though. Sympathies x

I'm a first-timer and I have no idea really! The books say that it could be any time between now and just before labour. Which is helpful.

Hi, I'm also 33 + 4 today and have exactly the same painful ribs.... I'm also looking forward to baby moving down a bit to give me some relief. Do you know when to expect baby's head to engage? Could it be soon or only when you get close to labour?

Hi Coastgirl - it really hurts doesn't it! I do find that crawling around on all fours (at home!) does help as baby seems to 'come away' from my ribs a little ... but I don't think I'm brave enough to do that in the office! Hope you feel better soon too :)

I can't really help but I can sympathise - sitting here at 33+4 trying to find a position where my ribs don't kill me! Sitting up very very straight helps a bit but that's not much use for long. I hope when baby's head engages it will be a bit lower and not so achy for me.
