"Sigh". Anyone else overdue and fed up?

I just need to moan :( Was due last tuesday. So now I'm 41+1. Had a sweep yesterday, and going back for one tomorrow, what a great birthday that will be! Due to be induced on Sunday (fathers day!) at 7:45am. Anyone else want to come and have a moan about being overdue? [fed up]

I know I'm sorry, if it's any consolation it's bloody knackering and I'm shattered! Anyone else popped yet?

Hi, how is everyone today?

I had my sweep yesterday (well, they couldn't do it after all) Funny enough after we got back from the hospital I started getting some contractions for couple of hours. Then they stopped. Later we went for a walk and that started the contractions again, I had them every 10 mins or so for few hours but they must have died down during the night as I managed to even sleep few hours and now nothing! Grrr..

emsdarling How horrible that they keep postponing your induction..! I know we are just numbers for them but you would hope that they would understand how stressful this is for us! Mine is booked for Tues now (41 wks today) At first they booked it for Thur but we asked if possible to have it a bit earlier (as my hospital did tell me that they will induce 40 + 12) so they changed it. I'm worried too that when the day comes there is no beds available.
I keep my fingers crossed that your contractions start very soon/or there is a bed available for you at the hospital!

:)

Well done Jasmine for making it to the pool! I cant imagine having the energy at mo! Am at the 41+6 days mark now and my optimism from last week is really wearing thin now...walked to the market today and just sooo tiring! really running out of things to do. my induction was booked for Tues but hospital unit was full so keep telling me to ring back...am in a queue! Feel like cattle! doesnt help that the midwives are so dismissive...I know they deal with it everyday but they should remember the hormonal pregnant woman on the other end of the line is feeling very vulnerable! The hubby is in a foul mood too as he has had to take his paternity even though she hasnt arrived and feels he wont have any time with her at this rate! Anyway hoping the stork brings us all contractions this eve!!!??? :)

Congratulations! Love the name - hope you are very happy and getting lots of cuddles from your DH and DD! Still here am very piddled off now! This baby is far too comfy! Good luck everyone! Skinny - I know how you feel! Said to hubby yesterday is it wrong to want to kick you in the shins because I want you to be as uncomfortable as me? He vanished to the kitchen and appeared back 10 minutes later having done the dishwasher, made me a cuppa and with a huge bar of chocolate! Might try that one again! lol! On the upside have finally been given a date for induction - Saturday! Yeah! Dont think I will be strutting my stuff on the dancefloor of a birthday party I have been invited to! On the other hand...if the induction doesnt work.....

MrsTMT well a show kind of indicates that your cervix is on the move so you might find the sweep kicks things off. Mine happened the other way round with a sweep first then a show but that was last Thursday....nada

I just took a fall in town, straight onto the kerb, full whack....DH thinks I'm trying unfair tactics now to get this little one moving...as if I'd risk splitting my leggings in that way, it would be a complete disaster as they are the only thing I can wear! Anyway, it didnt work, apart from having a bloody knee, little one has obviously hunkered down even more securely. No chance of me getting a wet sponge off you lot for the moment.

Sorry to butt in, but that website is really funny! :o) Every morning I look at my mobile and hope that nobody has texted me asking about the baby! I know they mean well but I am so frustrated of waiting at the moment..

I had the show yesterday morning but apart from that nothing.. As this is my first one, I am not even sure what to expect so any pain or twinge makes me think, is this it? And then nothing..

I got my sweep tomorrow but I am not holding much hope as it seems that it doesn't work for most people..?

:)

ps. even my midwife told me to enjoy my time as 'lady of leisure' (yeah right) as it will be gone very soon and then I won't have time for relaxing..!

any day now jasmine and you'll have another one, hope you've got the delivery suite on speed dial! :o

As for nice things to do, I'm the same as you, bored silly. Watched all the Sky+'d stuff, daytime TV is pants, the ironing's done and my house is spotless! If you get any bright ideas or suggestions, let me know :)

Sick to death of being told "enjoy the peace and relax while you can, you'll miss it soon/you won't know what's hit you/think you're tired now, you'll know what tired is when the baby's here!!" Grr. Just feck off.

Anyone got any suggestions of nice things to do when you're the size of a whale and cant walk more than a few hundred yards? I'm bored with the sofa and the TV

First of all, congratulations Melly20 on birth of Poppy! Wow, I wish my labour would be as quick as yours..!!

skinnymalin, me too I feel like turning my phone off! I am fed up at having to tell everyone all the time that there are no signs of labour yet! And I know they only mean well..

I try to keep on thinking that it is pretty normal to go overdue especially with the first baby, so trying to be patient and not get too frustrated.. Easier said than done!

Good luck everyone, we will get there eventually! Sooner than later I hope! :)

Hi all sorry about this :o my waters broke 5.43am friday morning and contractions started straightaway every 2-3 minutes apart! Poppy was born just 6 and a quarter hours later after 18 minutes of pushing at 12pm on the dot! She weighed 7lbs 12oz, was 10 days late and has a full head of hair :) I had gas and air, and a shot of diamorphine, neither of which helped in the slightest, I may as well have done without!

Good luck to everyone who's left! xxx

Hi all

I am due tomorrow with my first and slowly going insane!! Don't know why but I was convinced I would go early. Got an appt with midwife on Thursday and I am hoping she will offer to do a sweep but it will depend on if baby has engaged. At my 38 week appt baby was completely free and despite walking and constantly bouncing on my ball since then I don't think baby has moved down any!! Argh!
I can't believe its Monday again and got the prospect of another week of waiting. I finished work about 6 weeks ago and prior to that had worked full time for 10 years so not used to having so much time on my own. I am fed up with everyone tellling me just to enjoy it! I am seriously impatient now.

off to do some housework- might take my mind off things....

Hello! Can I join in too? I am now 40 + 4 and feel so frustrated too! Can't sleep properly and my hands & feet are swelling and I just feel so uncorfortable.. Baby seems to be very happy inside and in no hurry to come out! I am due for a sweep this Wed so we'll see if that helps..

How is everyone else? :)

I wonder how LDNlady is getting on?

I had a second sweep yesterday but midwife said it was not successful and I'm now booked for induction Thursday. Tried everything else in the book but this baby is not shifting. My back's really hurting today and I'm feeling very weepy.

How's everyone else doing today?

Can I join the club too! 40 + 4, had a sweep on Thurs...nada except a bit of bleeding and possibly a show yesterday. No cramping, just a very comfy baby who seems to enjoy riding the BH and has no intention of showing his little face. Been walking, eating curry and gooseberries (they usually upset my stomach and MW says that can sometimes spread to uterus) Turned down induction last Sunday because it was before my due date and no serious medical reason was being given...now being punished with the line 'no further possible appointments for another 2 weeks' so I'll be 43 weeks! I'm bored bored bored!

Hey ladies! Well, I really have resigned myself to just going into hospital on Sunday morning! :( Although baby has been really squirming and pushing right down I haven't really felt like anything is actually going to happen naturally. I had my sweep last Sunday then had a show but nowt since. I am finding each day more and more difficult so even though I am sad that things probably won't happen naturally, I am glad that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully we'll get to meet our wee girl by Monday or Tuesday. I hope you're all okay and keeping your chins up. x
