Tongue blisters?

Hello all, my tongue is coming out in a blister in the same place (tip, right) for the second time and just wondered if anyone has had similar...?
I've read that the causes range from vitamin deficiency (B Complex, Vit C, D and K) to the Herpes Simplex virus, to low immunity caused by the pregnancy. It appears at first as two/three slightly inflamed taste buds but this morphs into a white blister. The last time it happened a few wks ago, the blister just finally kind of partially separated from the tongue, then my tooth scraped against it and it came off (sorry to go into such horrid detail!). It began with my chewing gum and lots of mints (cravings) and i assume the menthol irritated my tongue/caused tongue 'trauma'. This time it could be due to the large amount of lemon and cough sweets I'm taking as a result of a really nasty cold i've had for 2 weeks. Has anyone had tongue blisters? Just today I've started gargling with salt water and putting turmeric mixed with honey on to it...will see if this helps...
Gxx

I was getting them during the first two months when I was craving gobstoppers and jawbreakers so the acidity theory is possibly right, haven't had any since I stopped having the acidy sweets.

I would just imagine it is a mouth ulcer from the sweets. Your mouth can be hyper sensitive when you're pregnant and do all sorts of funny things.

Bonjela should ease discomfort, but if you are extra cautious about taking things in pregnancy the kids one is probably better for you.

And stop eating sweeties - you'll rot your teeth! Wink
