Lovely things about being pregnant

Because we hear quite enough about the other!

Yesterday, I had already missed my first train back from London and didn't want to miss the next one as my DH was hanging around to pick me up, so I RAN up the escalators into Paddington, ran to the platform with one minute to spare and stopped at the First Class carriage. I asked the guard if I could get on at 1st class and walk through. He looked a bit Hmm, so I pointed out the massive belly and explained that I'm six months pregnant and I couldn't run any further!

He gave me a seat in first class Smile

Other things that are great:

  • I moved house and wasn't allowed to lift anything!
  • people keep making me cups of tea and giving me chocolate;
  • my DH rubs my bump all the time and talks to it;
  • i feel wriggles and kicks and they make me laugh;
  • It frightens all my 18 year old male students to death, and that makes me laugh too Wink

Anymore for anymore?

I love the excitement of waiting to feel the baby and get a bump!

I love the fact that for the first time in my life, I don't dislike my body - even though it doesn't look very different yet, I can't be critical of it or the way I look.

I love the shiver I get every time I think that I am going to have a baby.

I love playing guess the body part. DD2 due in January is very movey and flips from breech to almost head down quite regularly. I like it when I get a little hard bit, stroke it and think - is that your foot, hand, bum, head? Who know's, but she's in there dancing.

I love the fact that we're making my Mum a Grandma. She's so excited, can't talk about anything else and has been busy buying and planning and organising. It's so amazing to see the new lease of life it's given her.

I love it when my DH comes home from work and gives the bump a kiss and a cuddle and has a chat with him about his day. I look at DH looking at the bump and I am just filled with warm and fuzzy feelings.

I love planning for the future and imagining what it's going to be like when 2 become 3...:)

Was feeling rubbish - have a nasty cold, loads of work to do before tomorrow, and DH is away for a week (including two weekends) skiing Hmm - but feel much better after reading this. I've been looking quite washed out, mainly because of not sleeping, so can't claim any sort of glow, but I do love my bump, and also as people have said just how nice people are. And enjoying feeling her move - it can get me through the toughest times at work and make me smile. And DH is (when's he's around...) being lovely. Smile Thanks, folks!

I too needed this to remind me of the good stuff.
The look on my dds face when my belly "jumped this morning"
The fact that dh stil married me knowing there was never going to be children and then 4 yrs later!!!We earned this one i think.
As others have said,am loving the hard stomach too.

What a great thread. So nice to think about the positives!

I love it when my baby gets the hiccups!
I love it when DD feels the baby kick and thinks that it is because he loves her already.
I love to feel him wriggle - it makes me smile every time as I remember why my belly looks so big!
I love the fact that my students (sometimes) move out of my way and hold the doors open for me - even the teenage boys!
I also love the look on the faces of some of the male teachers every time I go near them. They are permanently terrified I'm going to give birth there and then.
I love the thought that I'm going to get a nice long rest from work and lots of time to spend with my lovely DD and new baby.

I love the fact that this thread has made me sit down and remember all of these lovely things.

Pregnancy is so exciting and such a happy time, despite all the other less plesant side effects. Enjoy it while it lasts!

I love that my best friend has organised me a surprise baby shower for today!! This and while she's going through chemo for breast cancer. Love her to bits.
And that my mum was due to travel 350 miles down for it (though she can't now come as she's got flu, too ill to drive and scared to give it to my friend while her immune system is so low)...and that my lovely step-dad was prepared to drive her here and back in the one day as she wasn't well enough to drive.
Am totally overwhelmed Smile

I love how kind MrM is to me, and how loving he is of my belly, desparate for any feeling of movement. I love feeling the movement too, knowing that something I have just eaten or done has triggered that. And I love how excited everyone around is us.

My 4 DD is 4 months old now but I had a heavenly pregnancy - my best bit was sunbathing in the garden (8 months pregnant) in a bikini and wanting the world to see my big brown belly! Don't think I'd worn a bikini for years before and not sure (after two babies) when I'll next do it - but just for a few hours in June I felt like a supermodel with a six-pack Grin

Lovely thread.

I love my bump. It's so nice to be happy to show my belly off rather than hide it due to flabbiness. I love the movements. I get proper kicks now and can sometimes see my belly move, it's awesome. I love hearing the heartbeat. I love looking at my scan pics and wondering what the baby is going to be like, whether it will be a boy or a girl.

I love not having to deal with stinky catfood due to ongoing sickness.

I have asked himself what he loves and he says watching my belly get big. Hooray for men who like pregnant bellies!

What a lovely thread. I'm enjoying feeling fantastic and am very smug telling people that I have had no symptoms. LOVE showing off my growing bump! Love being able to look forward to meeting our little pup and wondering what he or she will look like. Also love being able to finally have a reason to choose baby names other than for some mythical baby sometime in the distant future.
