My DS is about to turn 3. We have been potty training for 2 months now and when bribed successfully (usually refusing to do whatever he wants to do next until he's sat on potty) he can sit on the potty, concentrate and do a wee straight away. However, he never initiates going to the potty himself (apart from a couple of early attempts when we first started) and if left just wets himself. He doesn't initiate or give us any warning for poos either, and he often does them when lying down at nap time. Baby no.2 is due at end Sept, is it worth carrying on with the potty training or should I put DS back in nappies until after the baby is born? Any ideas or suggestions??

My dd 3.4 was like that when we started but then as the weeks went on she started to initiate it herself and now takes herself to the loo and pulls her pants down etc when she needs to go. Dont worry it will click.
