Hi I know to many of you this may sound like a stupid question but my 8 WK old is my first and I have been given so many different answers I'm v confused. How long can a breastfed baby go between feeds at night? She has bad colic and we have been trying coleif so the other night she went down after last feed at about 9.45 I expected her to wake about 3-4 hours latter but I woke at 5am and she was still sound asleep I woke her for a feed as was worries at the length of time since her last feed but doc told me I could of left her till she woke up even if that was 9 am would means she would have gone 12hra without feeding that seems a long time to me help

She is by no means an amazing sleeper most of the time unless in our bed but I think that is why I was worried when it seemed she may sleep through the night. Thank you if she gives us the opportunity again I will take it Smile

Hi there. When babies are very tiny and / or they have slow weight gain you are sometimes told to feed at a particular interval like every 3 or 4 hours. However, if your baby has good weight gain and is generally happy I don't think you need to wake her up especially as she is not brand new any more.

She will wake you if she needs more but personally I would be thanking my lucky stars that you have such an amazing sleeper Wink
