It's too exciting not to get people 'round for the 6th. I'm thinking I need topical food, so:

  • something on toast ... yes we will still remember that next week
  • something with mushy peas - do you remember Mandelson's guacamole gaff (followed up by the green slime attack)?

But then that leaves terrible blanks for Lib Dem and Tory foods ... so I turn to my brainy mumsnetters for inspiration!
Any ideas? ;D

Have you heard about the Parliamentary Waffle Bar?

You can choose bananas, blueberries or strawberries as your topping

For drinks you could have Gordons (gin) on the rocks...

When I was unpacking Ocado order this morning I noticed dh had ordered 3 packets of kettle chips, 1 big pack of twiglets, 1 big bag of bombay mix and a large bag of peanuts, plus two bottles of whiskey.

All for him. For election night. I may help a little with this lot, but I do not have the stamina to pull an all nighter and then get up the next day. He will simply take the day off and lie in bed, but I have children to get ready. Actually he has children too, but it will come down to me.

Annoyed, me! Well since I cannot stay up all night, I may as well go to bed a normal time!

I bought 6 pots of Pringles in the BOGTW offer. I'm on a diet, but it was too good to miss. I can honestly say I've never eaten enough pringles to make me feel sick. And I've eaten alot of pringles.

Can I join the MN night in?
This will probably be the first election where I've not stayed up till the early hours watching the last few votes comes in. But DD gets up at 6 so I'll need an earlier night than normal.

Last election the people I worked with thought I was totally crackers for asking for the day after off work, but then I doubt many of them bothered voting either.

Do you find it really off-putting that the Pringles tubes now tell you how many there are in a tube? (93 I think.) It takes away all the mystery and sense that there is an infinite supply.

BOGTF is hardcore, though.

I just bought some Pringles (they are on buy one get two free at Sainsburys ) for election night. Yes, not a gourmet moment but quite apt.

You sort of fancy them all a bit, but then you have too much of them and feel a bit sick.

But then you have to put up with them for ages because you've bought into the who Pringles thing (and there are two more tubes to go!)
