Just that really, do you believe, have you ever experienced anything.
I'll start with mine, didn't actually happen to me but to my son.
My father died several years ago, he had been ill and house bound for the last few years of his life.
At the time my son who had a very special relationship with his grandfather was traveling, and was in Argentina.
At around the time my father died my son said he woke with the feeling he wasn't alone. At the end of his bed (he was living with an Argentinean family) there was a bright light that hovered. He said he felt very warm and safe, and at that moment said he knew his grandfather had died.
The only time I've experienced anything was when I was pregnant with my son. We lived in a flat at the time. It happened during the day when I was alone. We had a large walk in cupboard, more like a small room which we used as a wardrobe. My husband plays guitar which was stored in this room.
I was in the bathroom (next to said room) when I clearly heard the guitar strumming different notes. Remember feeling very uneasy, but turned on light and looked in room. The guitar was propped against the wall in its sealed case. This happened years ago, can't think of any reason why, but I didn't imagine and it really shook me up at the time.

I posted this on another thread but anyway!..In a different life I used to be in the Army. For four years I was based in Germany, it was an ex WW2 camp for the German SS if I remember rightly. Although the place has since been handed back to the Germans.
Anyway, I didn’t exactly see anything as such but the camp had a malevolent feel to it. Especially during a time when I was doing Xmas guard duties there and the place was pretty much deserted ( obviously most people were on Xmas leave). Patrolling the camp at night was pretty spooky, particularly with hardly anyone else around. It had a statue of an SS eagle in one part of the camp next to a tunnel ( which was blocked up). Lots of rumours went around about the tunnel, apparently they went miles away underground to another base but never knew if this was true. Presumably to avoid detection by the allied forces.
Whilst there, lots of marriages failed, some guys ended up in a psychiatric ward, some went AWOL and many people just resigned and left. I always felt quite depressed there and probably would have stayed in the army had I not been based there.
I’ve also seen the place mentioned on other chat forums so know it wasn’t just me who felt this!

Just read the whole thread, I love these. @Happiness I just read your post and I’m at work- it sent chills down my spine even at 8am in the morning!!! That is one heck of a scary story, thank you for sharing with us.

Personally I don’t have a lot of experiences with ghosts as such, never come across anything like some of these stories (thank God!!). I don’t know how I would deal with them…
I have had experiences with otherworldly spiritual experiences such as below:

• I can pick up on atmospheres in rooms or houses I have first visited.
• I can pick up a vibe on someone by meeting them for the first time and it’s been true.
• I have had a few experiences and still get these today, where I am either asleep or just falling asleep and the room I am in feels suddenly smaller or ‘collapsing’ on me. I know it sounds ridiculous, I can’t describe it. The atmosphere just feels heavy and I am either getting bigger or smaller…. I have googled this and have not found a lot of information on it, other than it could just be ‘energy’ ?! I also think it could be vibrational energy, it comes on when I use to mediate.
• The day my Boyfriend’s cousin died (very tragically at only 21) that evening I felt a presence at the end of our bed, it was in the dark so I couldn’t see anything luckily. I also didn’t dare peak out from under the covers! But I could feel something was there. I always thought it was him just saying his last goodbyes to his loved ones. It makes me sad still thinking about it. Just a quiet, ‘I’m gone now’ sort of presence… it is so difficult to describe unless you have felt it.
• I have felt impending doom very randomly… I cannot describe the feeling. It comes on suddenly, like a presence is around me. I have only felt this twice, both times whilst driving on my own at night. It is very odd..

Anyone else have any stories to share? I would love to keep this thread going x

My first experience I was really young, I wasn't bothered by it, I don't think I understood that what I was seeing. I'd wander around with this old man, I'm sure my parents thought, aww cute she's got an imaginary friend.

We moved, I remember having this feeling, a bit like dread. You never felt alone, whatever it was didn't feel good. I remember screaming for my parents a few times, proclaiming something was in my room, but there was nothing visible, so I'd be told to go to sleep. I don't know what my parents thought then, or think now. When I visit, it's almost like there's a lingering sadness about the place, it's really hard to describe, it certainly doesn't feel like a home.

I spoke with a friend who was house hunting years back, I'd mentioned how I'd gone to a different friends, they were always unwell, it felt like I was being drained. The house hunting friend said they walked into this one house, then left right away, it really didn't have a good feeling about it.

I know there's sceptics, I guess you have to experience it, to really believe.

I've had quite a lot of experiences and a few I've been told by others have stuck in my head to retell to others. I love the ones like the woodland one on here and ones that make you feel a bit uneasy. rather than "I saw a Victorian maid walk through a wall"

I do genuinely think most things can be explained but it's fun to hear stories.

This is me. Absolutely love the stories, the more detailed the better, but usually explainable.

I have had a few of my own experiences but easily explained when thinking clearly.

I think I remember seeing video footage from years ago of a ghost in a nursery or maybe a care home. It was CCTV footage of a door opening or something. I do genuinely think most things can be explained but it's fun to hear stories.

If you say so :)

HerRoyalFattyness · 22/04/2019 00:09

But even if we were able to show the video as proof, there are people out there (I'm guessing you'd be one of them) who would claim it is faked. So it seems pretty pointless to be honest.
You either believe or you don't. The only thing that will change a skeptics mind is experiencing something that they absolutely cannot explain. No video, audio photographic or other proof others have will convince them.

TooManyPuppies · 21/04/2019 23:01

Well I disagree there are ways, but it's all good was just genuinely curious is all. I am the biggest skeptic on the planet, to me everything is explainable. So it makes me wonder if people really think they have proof why they wouldn't be getting these so called "professional" ghost people to look into it.

I guess video proof is even easier to explain than when it happens in real life.

Even the tech to blur faces can be undone, revealing the children.
Its far too risky to allow the footage to be leaked to any tom dick and harry.

I do want to get some sort of paranormal investigators in, over a weekend when its closed but i don't trust any to be legitimate and I'm pretty sure my boss wouldn't give me the keys and let me just wander round the place with a bunch of strangers Grin

Theres ways or having faces blurred if it's important to, though most CCTV is so grainy from a distance anyway. But it matters not I was just curious if they really did believe it was legitimate proof.

Can't see how it puts them at risk but ok

If you really must know, we have children in our care who are under CP plans.

We also have adopted children who we aren't allowed to show publicly.

So yes, it absolutely would put children at risk.

I don't think when you've just woken up is a time to give a reliable account of anything.

This is my theory too. Also people who were near death and went to heaven or saw loved ones who passed over etc I believe being out of it and near death can cause any sort of visions and experiences.
As well as being in a fearful situation in a dark lonely place when you're already a bit scared or have heightened senses.

While I absolutely love reading the stories in still not convinced any are the result of ghosts. Though I do believe those who tell them really believe they saw what they saw I'd put it down to a result of the situation at the time which lead them to "see" these things.

It's definitely a spooky one isn't it. Some really good stories on this thread. I remember reading about Anne Diamond having an experience as well. I'm going to try and paraphrase it best I can
She's looking to buy a house and finds one she likes, old lady who lives there shows her round. Anne wants the house but the agent tells her it's no longer for sale, the old lady changed her mind. Few months later its back up again & Anne goes for another look, takes her mother with her. It's a winter afternoon so it's gone dark early. The same little old lady shows them around, goes off to make a pot of tea. Anne Diamond and her mum are wandering about upstairs. They go downstairs and the woman has left which they thought was odd. They go into the living room & her mum is saying what a lovely house it is, lots of space etc. Then they suddenly realise how empty the place is and that her mum is sitting on what appears in the dark to be like a wardrobe lying on its side. They get a horrible feeling wash over them and her mum whispers "I dont like this, it feels like a coffin" or words to that effect. Anyway they decide not to buy the house but she goes back for one more look and the postman tells her what a shame it was how the old lady died & she had been dead for 2 weeks in the house before they found her !! It worked out that she would have been dead at the time they went to look round.
I'm so rubbish at retelling stories trying to make them shorter but that was the gist of it.

I had a visitation from my DH recently. I have never believed in ghosts or anything remotely woo, but I was awakened by the pressure of DH leaning over me in bed.

I suspect you weren't awakened, but were still dreaming. Even if you had just awoken, I don't think when you've just woken up is a time to give a reliable account of anything.

This has all be captured and rewatched on CCTV

That sort of thing would to viral and be very valuable to those trying to prove ghosts exist. Have they passed any of the alleged proof on to anyone who could investigate the phenomenon?

I work in a mursery that used to be a pub.
A lot of weird stuff happens.

Safety gates open themselves, lights turn themselves on and off. We even had a plastic plate fly from the shelf to the middle of the room and land just behind my colleague.
This has all be captured and rewatched on CCTV by the staff and the owner.

Ooooh I love these threads.

My mother, grandmother and I were sat round her kitchen table a few nights before my grandads funer was to take place. My grans mobile phone was on the table in front of us, as was my grandfather's where he had left it before he died. One of the old ones that held charge for weeks. No notifications in the background. Just texts and calls no Internet access. My grans phone screen lit up and my grandfather's name was on the screen. His phone was totally blank. When we checked the phone after no record of him calling her, but the missed call showed on her phone. Scary and unexplainable.

Oh actually just remembered another one. It sounds really daft, but I don't have an explanation for it at all. DH and I went to Paris, and did a tour of the Opera House, my favourite building in the world. I took lots of photos. The only ones that didn't turn out properly were the ones of Box 5. I took about 10, trying to get one that was not blurred or didn't have a weird light disrupting the middle of the photo. The area itself was not well lit, and test photos of other boxes did not have the same issue.

DH and I joked that it was the Opera Ghost, who is well known to use Box 5 as his domain. Now we both knew that a) it's fictional and b) the Opera Ghost wasn't actually an ghost but a disfigured man. So why did we have this problem? There is no explanation.

I had a visitation from my DH recently. I have never believed in ghosts or anything remotely woo, but I was awakened by the pressure of DH leaning over me in bed. I saw him as he was before his last illness, and could smell his aftershave, touch him, feel his moustache add he kissed me and told me he loves me. I asked him if it was really him, and he said "who else?". I could feel the heaviness of him above me, and the duvet being pressed down where he was leaning on his hands. Strangely since this happened, I spoke to my nan who also lost her husband young and she experienced a similar thing, only for her the room went icy cold as my grandad appeared.
