Did anyone watch the first part of this last night. I did and I LOVED it. It was made by the same people that made The Passion a couple of years ago and it has a lot of the same feel as that one. Can't wait until tonight for the next part :)

I watched all the 4 episodes on iPlayer earlier today. I LOVED it! Somebody mentioned being in tears when Joseph took Mary's hand in the end. I was in tears probably 50% of the time. I think I put myself in Mary's shoes and what it must have been like and how difficult it must have been for Joseph as well. I heard somebody saying on TV this week that the nativity story does not need to be retold. Well, I think this kind of film which gives more "meet on the bone" is excellent and increases understanding - to know what Mary might have been like as a person, what their relationship was like, how the news was recieved by the community etc. If I could I would download it to watch every Christmas.

I just think it was a pity they missed some of the last parts of the storyt like mary and joseph taking jesus to be circumcised in jerusalem and meeting simeon and anna, simeons prayer beautiful and the flight into egypt, and the magi going home another way. I understand why the massacre at bethlehem was missed out though, it seemed the ending was rushed
