To ask you to support this rape victim?

Apologies if there have been other threads on this but I can't find one.

"Liz", a 16 year old Kenyan girl has been gang-raped by boys from her school then dumped in a latrine pit. She has spinal, bowel & bladder injuries and now needs to use a wheelchair. The police did arrest some of her attackers but let them go - their only punishment was having to cut the police station's lawn.

Please sign this petition calling on the Kenyan government to ensure justice for her and other rape victims

From what I can tell the perpetrators have fled to Uganda so justice may never be done. At least the girl won't have to face them every day

Avaaz (the petition site) is still collecting signatures. Some supporters in Kenya took it upon themselves to deliver the (uncompleted) petition to the police but the main campaign is continuing. So definitely still worth signing.

I think they have delivered the petition now. Doesn't hurt to sign it now but they delivered, I think, about 1.2 million signatures.
