Right, that Carrie Grant has got to get a stern talking to

Appalled that she can get away with singing

"I just lay there with my eyes open"

on the "I don't want to go to bed" song on "Carrie & David's Poptarts" or whatever the heck it is called.

And no, it wasn't the past tense of "lie" - the rest of the song is in the present tense. So the writer, editor, director, producer, the milfy Ms Grant and, presumably, the whole of the production team do not know the difference between the transitive verb "to lay" (an object down) and the intransitive verb "to lie".

I'd be more worried about her bloody awful singing.

Your entire argument is betrayed by your use of the term 'milfy.'

You wouldn't feel quite so earnest to give John McCririck a talking to, would you?

That show is so wrong anyway, this just adds the cherry on top. And someone should steer her away from drainpipe jeans... with those pipecleaner legs it is NOT a good look.

I man, I heard a mum saying it to her child at the playground once: "Destiny, lay down flat on the swing"... but she was obviously an uneducated peasant. You don't expect it on the Beeb...
