i have booked a room and i've booked an entertainer for the duration of party. i've got family doing food and i'll send out the invites once school commences.
what else do i need besides a birthday cake?

she's going to be 7 this time and this is her first ever party. do i need to turn up to the venue earlier to sort out the buffet? do i buy the party girl banner things, or do they provide that?

What kind of venue is it? You could turn early and decorate but you might stress yourself out and if it's a community hall it will get lost. I'd certainly stick some balloons on the floor and on the door. May be a welcome or birthday banner at the entrance? Some places don't let you in until the start of the hire so say on the invites the party starts 15 mins after the hire starts and that will give you time to set out the food.

You sound like you've got the essentials covered. Have you thought about party bags? Prizes for games?

ty for the reply. ive had difficulty signing in since I posted due to this hacker thing. I dont have my email anymore so cant reset my pw for the whatawhoppa account. had to get a new one and whack an R on the end of my name. pain in the arse or what?!

any how, back to topic. with regards to decoration, I meant just a couple of party girl bannersv on the wall, and the odd balloon here and there. nothing extreme as its only a 2 hour shindig. ive been to two kids parties there before, and saw the banners like that, just wondered who provided them or put them up. its at a bar/night club type venue. they have a room with a bar, tables chairs dance floor, disco lights and music etc that ive booked privately. the entertainer ive booked is regular there so knows the system so he wont be fannying around setting up.
the two parties I went to, I arrived on time and the buffet was already laid out, but covered, this is why im wondering what time I should get there. I think im going to have to ring the lady and check all this arent I? I feel like a muppet for needing to ask.

party bags, im starting those as from today. ive been ordering party bag fillers. ive got 5weeks to spread it over so it wont feel as expensive.

i have a couple of babies coming, aged 3 down to nearly 1, and want to do them an appropriate party bag, what things would you recommend? I dont want to leave them out, and the bits of crap novelty items the 6/7 year olds will get is defo not for the babiesm thanks for this, genuinely. sorry for long post

Babies .. cake and bubbles .. they dont expect much if anything. Banners cheap in card shops/poundland. Balloons better on the floor to play with. Have you got pop/cups/plates/jugs/sharpe knife paper towels, lighter, candles, table clothes, bin bag,

Sounds all good. keep somewhere safe for presents that are given to the BG. My niece had two stolen from the 'present table' after she'd opened them ????????
