Ergobaby or Babybjorn carrier?

Trying to decide between the Ergobaby omni 360 cool air mesh and the Babybjorn one air.
I like that the babybjorn looks easier to put in but the outward facing the hips dont look in the correct position. Where as the Ergobaby looks better with the hips but looks really tricky to put on.
I need peoples reviews and opinions please.

I have the Ergobaby. Its comfortable and supportive and my baby sleeps well in it whilst I go about my day. It is tricky to put on by yourself though, esp the top shoulder strap.

I’ve got the baby bjorn. It’s very comfortable for me and the baby. Super easy to put on!

I think the hip position conforms to all necessary standards and baby bjorn do discuss why that’s the correct position on their website

Ergo is great for front and back carries and lasts really well. I loved ours before moving on to woven wraps for older toddlers.

I actually had/have both and used the Ergobaby, the babybjorn one went to the neighbours who use it religiously and didn't like the ergobaby for their small baby (under 4 weeks) BUT this is very individual. Is there a sling lady / library you can go to once baby is born? This way, you could ensure that it's right for you and baby rather than rely on other people's reviews.

@cheesebubble baby is already nearly 12 weeks old 😂 weve been using a wrap sling so far which he loves but he's getting heavy now and I'll need something more supportive for my back soon. And in lockdown at the moment with no idea when shops will be open again so can't even go and try any. Would love to be able to try on both and decide.

I have an ergobaby 360 omni and though I find it hard to put on by myself in the 'H' position on the back, if I cross over the straps I find it very easy to put on. It's very comfortable to wear

If you can hire one or both that would be a good idea - buckle carriers don't fit everybody comfortably.

I've got both - ergo is much much better and has more longevity.

I’ve had both - the Ergo was much better for me, as the Bjorn really hurt my lower back. I’m quite tall, which may have had something to do with it.

You could look on FB Marketplace and pick up one of each pretty cheaply, I suspect, to try them out? Then just resell them both and buy a new one of whatever you prefer.

I have the baby Bjorn and I like it. My baby feels super supported and comfortable and it’s like a magic sleep trick - virtually the second he’s in it, he’s asleep. It’s easy to take on and off and comfortable to wear, even for a long time.

We have the ergo embrace for smaller baby and the ergo omni 360. I have to say, I prefer the embrace far more as it’s less bulky. We still use that one 95% of the time with 9 month old. The ergo omni it’s getting better as he’s growing, but awkward to get on so only really works once baby old enough to kind of hold on whilst you adjust

Don’t buy secondhand or super cheap Ergos unless they’ve got proof it’s a real Ergo. There are a lot of unsafe fake Ergos out there.

And I second the advice that it’s easy to wear with crossed straps, but very hard with the H strap.

I prefer the Ergo as you can feed in it - don't have any problems doing the h straps up but I have flexible shoulders!

Actually ergo has a new sling just out, it’s basically the ergo embrace but with higher weight limit. Called aerloom. I would look at that

I have the baby born mini and it's really comfortable. I have been suffering with backpain in the 5 weeks since I gave birth due to diastasis recti but I have no oian qhen I'm wearing it and baby feels almost weightless even tho he's abit of a chunk and definatly not light

Definitely the Ergo. I know BB have changed their designs but they were terrible for hip position for a long time and I wouldn't trust one.

Also I have never seen a baby in a BB who wasn't being carried away too low down.

It's really important to have good outwards facing position. IME you use the outwards position much more than inwards - it isn't long before babies get curious and want to see what's going on! And it's uncomfortable for you and them if they keep trying to twist round.

Not everyone knows that the Ergo top back shoulder strap is adjustable up and down. Best advice I got was to move it down so it's in the same position as your bra strap is. Then it's much easier to do up, as you're already used to reaching back and fastening something in that position.

Another vote for the ergo baby omni 360. Once my DS could hold his head up, we only ever used outward facing. I carried him in it until he was 1 and only stopped because I got pregnant. It’s so comfortable.

The tip I was told to put on the ergo was to loosen the shoulder straps out really long and clip the back strap in position before you put it on. Then once baby is in, put the back strap over your head (still closed) then tighten the shoulder straps. So hard to describe but this girl does it at the end of her you tube video (about 5:30 in)

I tried on an Ergo omni 360 and found it to be far too bulky, much to my surprise. I’d previously been convinced it was the carrier for me. I ended up with a Beco Gemini Cool. I borrowed carriers from it’s a sling thing online. I haven’t tried to Bjorn One Air, but did have the mini when my baby was tiny and found that very unsupportive. I strongly advise you to try if you can.

I used the Ergobaby 360 and carried my baby up until 2yrs daily for walks up to 3hours. Absolutely loved it and would definitely buy again

I also second the ergo baby and letting out the shoulder straps before putting on to make the strap at the back easy to do. Then pull the baby into position by yanking the shoulder straps like you’re tightening a backpack!

I’ve got the ergobaby omni 360 mesh. I find it really comfy and it’s not difficult to get on by yourself if you know the tricks - YouTube helps massively here! I can get my baby in all the positions by myself (we practiced the back carry over the bed until I was confident but it’s not that bad once you’ve done it a couple of times)

Like other posters I’ve heard bad things about baby bjorn and hip positions which put me off although that might be for their older models
