NA - ugh! how awful. . Is the Dad going cope without her? Are the children? 7 and 14? How horrible . She must be distraught at the thought of leaving them and it not being in her control. Poor poor lady. Poor all of them. Poor you. Sending prayers your way.

its her kids and husband i feel for. knowing that they haven't got long together. they are 7 and 14 so it must be tough cos they actually understand whats going on. i keep hoping the doctors are wrong and she's going to get better.

yes i did she's so cheery and looking on the bright side it's heartbreaking. made me feel very sad watching her with all her family and friends and thinking they are all going to be torn apart sometime soon.

she used to be such a bright spark and i just can't believe it could happen to someone like her. she's just so tired all the time and it's like it's not her anymore.

i didn't give it to him. i went but only went for an hour so i could get back to him and relieve my dad if he was still up. he was asleep when i got back. when i went out he was standing up crying in his cot and the poor thing must have tired himself out.

I'm sorry to hear your friend is dying xx

A one off is fine - if you need to see your dying friend I think that counts as pretty important in my book - your DS will be fine, no harm done.

no it is just a one off for tonight. basically my friend is dying of cancer and i'm meant to be going to see her tonight and my dad was babysitting on the basis ds would be in bed and he wouldn't really have to do anything. don't particularly want to take him with me cos i don't think it's any place for a baby but i don't want to let my friend down either. and if anything was to happen to her i would never forgive myself for having not seen her.

My brother used to tell tales of his work friends dd's having sleep overs and not quietening down so all the mothers agreed that if it got too noisy they could calpol them all to get some sleep....

Why do you need to sedate? Is it a regular problem with sleeping?

Report
Hathor · 29/06/2007 21:36

I think it only works for a while then they get used to it. Don't know if it is OK to use for sedating on a regular basis.

nappyaddict · 29/06/2007 21:35

well when i can't sleep i take sleeping tablets. can't see how its much difference, especially as a one off.

does it work on 7 year olds with ADHD who plays up every single night...??

Report
nappyaddict · 29/06/2007 21:33

ah was wondering if it was like trying to get labour to come earlier and only works if its already about to happen soon anyway.
