21 month old stripping of food in bed!

So, my 21 month DD has started taking all her clothes and nappy off in bed in the morning. She sleeps in a growbag in a toddler bed. She gets out of the growbag, takes all her clothes off so she is completely nude and then appears to go back to sleep.
I think it's only happening early in the morning as there has only been one 'wee' incident and I check on her throughout the night (when I get up to pee - I'm 35 weeks pregnant so it happens a lot!) and she is still fully clothed. But each morning for the last three days - there she is butt naked!
I'm extremely lucky in as much as in the mornings she doesn't get out of her toddler bed, she just waits for me to go in and get her. She doesn't makes loads of noise and just plays quietly with her teddies, or goes back to sleep, So I'm unsure of the exact time she's wakes up. I get her at 7am every morning. I think she wakes around 6.15-6.30.

Should I just accept that it's her way of saying 'come get me earlier' or try and get her out of this habit? Am I being unfair expecting her to play on her own or go back to sleep for half hour before I get her up?
I've read various advices

  • , putting on PJ's instead (but she can take them off too)

-using a duvet instead of the growbag (but that doesn't seem productive as She will already be one layer down?)
-putting on her footless baby grow backwards (maybe worth a try?)
-duck tape on nappy? (Not overly happy about that one!)

Anyone got experience?? I'd like to try and get is sussed before number two arrives!

Thanks ladies. You have all been really helpful. She's currently in a growbag she can't undo.... for now. So we will see. I'm hoping once the potty training is done it will help the situation. But I think maybe she just finds it fun to be nude at the moment!

I'd try pjs with buttons. If you're using nappies with tabs I'd try pull ups, if you're using pull ups try tabs!
Maybe put some little knickers over the nappy?
And put a little Dry nights pad under her sheet just in case

My 3 yr ild strips and pulls off night nappies ! (She is fully trained in day) i think nappies full of wee feel pretty rank and kids prefer a nice bare bum!

Never feel bad about a toddler amusing themselves in the early morning...that is the holy grail of parenting !

I don't think she's too hot. The temp in her room is around 18. No heating on yet! I'm much to tight for heating while the sun is still shinning! 😂
I think she just wants to wee with it off. I'm starting to think it might be time to potty train. I just wanted to get the birth of my new baby out the way first! Guess I shall bite the bullet and give it a go on my next set of days off!

My LG did this for amwhile, she just likes being naked and was very pleased with herself when she figured out how to take her clothes off.

All in one PJs with a zip or buttons put on backwards worked. Baby grow with poppets might work but it didn't take long for mine rto figure out if she pulled hard enough it came undone.

My 2 year old DD2 does this and so did DD1. I just leave them too it tbh. Not doing anyone any harm and DD2 spends pretty much her whole time in the house naked anyway. She prefers to be that way. We've had a couple of wee accidents in the cot but I have a mattress protector so it's no biggie and she's pretty much potty trained through the day now ad a result of being naked for most of it!

I she's happy and not too cold then I'd leave her to it. If she wanted you to come and get her wouldn't she cry?

Just to add a duvet didn't work for her at this stage but it's worth a try.

I'm afraid I never worked out how to stop it.
DD used to take everything off, poo in the corner of her cot (always the same corner) then wake me up screaming Poo! Poo!
Or she'd take everything off and wake me up complaining she was cold.
I tried backwards nappy, pjs , sleeping bag sewn at shoulders & on backwards. Nothing worked.
I just had to keep telling her to keep her nappy on. Eventually she stopped taking her nappy off but would appear with inside out pyjamas etc so I knew she was still doing it.
Over a year on and she still wanders around naked whenever she can - I think she just likes it!

Have you asked her about it?

I would get rid of the sleep bag tbh. At least with a thin toddler duvet she can just kick it off if too hot without fully waking up.

Is she talking nappy off as it's full and uncomfortable?

If it was me I would just get waterproof matress covers and stick potty in the room.

Put the nappy on backwards. It completely stumps them.

I used baby gro back to front and duct tape in the nappy, otherwise I'd have had naked triplets in the morning!

Maybe she's hot?

Has your heating started coming on in the morning? She could be too hot.

I would try pjs and a duvet to be honest. Just add socks in case the feet poke out and get cold. My DD was in both by 9 months, she hated being zipped up and liked the freedom.

Confused It is a kind of phase that no one mentions

I used to go and get DD when she woke before 7am and we would both lay in bed reading our books for a bit.
