My daughter has just gone in to y3. Learning difficulties were mentioned in y1 but we were told to wait and see.
She saw the SENCO in y2 and she dealt with my now teenage daughter (who has dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dyslexia) and said almost certainly was my younger dd dyslexic and dyspraxia.
She is such a happy confident little girl despite this and is so so clever she can tell you about all sorts of things, makes up amazing stories and she is just so so happy.
Now she's coming home every evening saying things like "miss g said I'm copying" "miss g says I write too slow" "miss g says I'm a fusspot" and so on and so on.
Her homework isn't marked and her reading record hasn't been marked either since going back for the new term.
She also has a red cover to help her read (it stops the words jumping she says) the learning mentor gave her this and now her new teacher can't find it and has been promising for a week to get one.
I'm not an overprotective mum I don't bug the teachers but I'm so upset I'm seeing my little confident girl doubting and getting stressed with herself for something she has no control over.
My elder daughter ended up self harming and been a school refuser during secondary I don't want it to happen again.
