Night weaning

DD is 7.5mo and wakes 1-2x a night for a feed (BF). Eats 3 "meals" a day including meat/protein and carbs plus BF in between. Goes to sleep from being put down awake so does not rely on feeding to sleep. I'm feeling a lot of pressure that she should be sleeping through by now, incl from HV. What do you think? I'm inclined to give it another couple of months at least, before trying to cut back. It would be nice if she would just drop them naturally but am I being unrealistic? Don't mind at the moment but not sure about it when I go back to work....
What were your experiences?

Thanks for the replies. The last 3 nights I tried waiting 5 min before going in to feed her, and to my surprise she went back to sleep and slept through until 6.30! I wonder how long this will last!

Our DS (1st born) was still waking once a night at 2 years old, which in hindsight was just out of habit, he would have some juice, or milk, tucked back in and his dummy, he started sleeping through (luckily) 4 weeks before DD arrived.

DD on the other hand started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks old! The HV told us she was feeding too often during the day, it was little and often, every 2 hours or so but not actually taking much milk. DD would wake every 4 ish hours during the night. The HV told us that is we could gradually stretch out the period between day time feeds it would also extend how long she would go during the night. I have to say that once we got to about every 4 hours happily, during the day, she would sleep for around 8 hours at night. It did seem to work, not sure if you can apply it to your situation though.

My 2.2yo still wakes in the night 1-2 times. Albeit not for milk but if breastfeeding were his comfort I'm sure he's want it. As it happens he just wants a dummy/cuddle/in our bed. He may not be feeding for nutrition at night despite being able to go down without it.

7 months is wayyyy too little for night weaning (from what I've read at least!).

1-2 wakings is pretty good. My 14 month old is the same. I've been trying to night wean her lately as I'm pregnant and she has slept a little better some nights but it's very hit and miss.

Have a read of this, it might help themilkmeg.com/why-our-breastfed-babies-and-toddlers-wake-so-frequently/
