I am really disgusted at the amount of swearing on a lot of threads. This is a website about being MOTHERS, the highest calling you can have in life. Please clean up your language and find a better way to express yourself.

Must confess I hate the c word, and don't say fuck much, but sometimes. Depends who I'm talking to and about what.
Try not to swear at all in front of dd's. DD1 did say Bloody hair the other day when her hair was getting in her face

Like Tamdin I am Irish and it is much more acceptable over there to swear in everyday vernacular.
I had a funny experience when I first came to London. I was working in a restaurant/deli and A bloke from head office was really irritating me by following me around asking q's. So I went into the office where there were a couple of other managers( same as me) and exlaimed 'oh I wish he would just fuck off and leave me alone' cue silence. It then occured to me that swearing wasn't viewed in the same way in the UK That would have been a totally ok thing to say in Ireland. I have curtailed my language since then but slip every so often.

ahem, I do actually swear quite a lot in real life, and dont find most swear words offensive. The two words I do find most offensive on here are cunt and anal (as in "Im anal about this" which I always read as "I have my head firmly up my arse")

Yes Of couse mothers swear also, but it does seem a little OT on here

do you all realy talk as you type ?

so your everyday sentences when talking to friends and family have f*k and c*t in them?

I have quite a few friends from various backgrounds and think have heard one say f**k a couple of times, otherwise no one does in general conversation!

Not being argumentative!!! Just interested

I think the worst thing dd1 says from me is Oh for God's sake. Which is probably very to some people, but I don't think it's a huge deal.
I don't swear in front of dd's very much at all and none of the nasty words, but don't see why I should curb my language when they aren't around, and I do tend to post on here as I would speak in rl. Mostly.

DD1 3.5 also told me dd2 9 mth was being a brat. She wasn't so long discussion ensued about what being a brat entailed. Which dd1 had been a few days before.

Funnily enough my little darling doesn't swear but has been known to say 'Bleedin Ell' (DH, not me) on occasion. That is the worst thing DH says as well. I say the lot, try not to in front of DS though.

I have always been dreading the day DD calls someone a "guckin moron" (only just gettin her Fs)... mummy isn't the most polite in the car!

She did turn round today and tell us that Psychomum's son was being a spoilt brat ... I vividly remember calling her that before banishing her to her room one day. She has since explained that he said he hated her... which she had apparently said to me before I used the choice phrase
