I’ve got shoulder length, thick hair which is wavy on some bits and frizzy on others.

I’m having the same problem as Tequila , with tangling in the gap and breakage, and other posters with leftover frizz and it not feeling hot enough.

Will persevere but a bit disappointed at the moment

Tried it for the first time today. My hair is long and curly, I used the old BBH to get it sleek with waves at the end I.e. not poker straight like with straighteners, and was quite good at it before it died on me.

Unfortunately my first attempt with the new BBH has left me with a head full of frizzy. It basically looks like it does at the hairdressers before they take the GHDs to it!

I may just need more practice so will give it another go tomorrow.

@Tequilamockingbird mine keeps getting stuck there too. I've just been using much smaller sections, but that then has the knock on effect of taking ages. Let me know if you figure it out

Other testers - what am I doing wrong to make my hair tangle around the small gap at the end of the brush? I've tried smaller sections but it seems to blow the hair that way.

My old one doesn't do this, and I think I'm using them both in the same way.

Any ideas?

I received mine on Saturday and have been using it daily since. I like it a lot and actually prefer to the old one. I’ve had the old one for a couple of years now and consider myself a pro at using it.
My hair is flat, lifeless messy straight-ish and I can only sacrifice 10-15 minutes to make it right in the morning.
The new BBH is easier to use than the old one, a lot less tangling. It also seems to be gentler on my hair, perhaps because of the bristles being further apart. Styling takes less time than with the old one and de-frizzing results are good and long lasting.
In short, I’m a convert. And I love the new colour!

Ok tested mine today.
Background is my hair has totally changed in the last 10 years, used to be pretty straight and silky.
Now I have random ringlets and flat on top and frizz all over. Overall this is NOT a good look.

I will be 50 in January, I've no issue with that but rubbish hair at 50 is a no for me.
Had a BBH for years so am a bit of a pro but it's getting harder to see good results.

First attempt took 11 minuets and was impressive for a quick go.
Only drawback so far was tensioning the hair with the powerful pull of the brush made my arm ache towards the end.

Hopefully before and after attached.

Tried mine from wet today. As in I blasted my hair for a bit with the hairdryer and then used the big hair care.

Hate to say this. Think the old one was better. Can't seem to get my hair looking as good. Feels really fluffy and flyaway.

Can actually see the frizz.

Like another poster though I am seriously due a trim

I’ve been using mine for a few days now and I definitely think it’s an improvement on the ‘standard’ BBH. It feels kinder to my hair.

What I love about the BBH is that my hair stays ‘done’ looking all day for just 5 mins effort in the morning. If I just use the dryer, it looks great for 5 mins then goes limp and frizzy. If I put Velcro rollers in after the dryer, it stays looking pretty good, but they need to stay in for about 1/2 an hour which is no good if you are in a rush. The BBH is by far the best styling gadget I’ve ever had for both speed and results.

Your hair is lovely Ginand.

I've been persevering with mine but the results aren't improving and my hair keeps getting tangled in the barrel.
However, I'm having my hair cut this week, it's a long time overdue. Trying to use the big hair in it's current state is like trying to untangle damp spider webs with a garden hoe.

Hopefully the haircut will improve the results I'm getting and just generally look better

I agree about the heat, frequency. I also expected it to get a bit hotter than it does. It's probably much better for my hair than the other styling tools I use at full heat, but I felt like I wanted a bit more heat iyswim. Probably, though, this was because I was in a rush and wanted to get the job done! Grin

Mine came a few days ago but I haven't had time to use it until today.

As a hairdresser/freelance writer/single mother/college student/bar person I am busy. I rarely have time to style my hair and usually tip my head upside down and attack it with a blow-dryer. I have superfine, tangle and frizz prone mid length layered hair so the results of this are never pretty which is not great when it's literally in your job description to have good hair. I can't count the amount of times I have walked into work and my boss has given me The Look while silently handing me the GHDs.

I've just tried the BaByliss big hair to rough dry my hair i.e not taking sections, head tipped upside down and attacking it with the big hair and I have to say I'm impressed. My hair is much less frizzy, doesn't feel as parched and is quite 'done' compared to normal.

My only issues are my hair tangled around the end of the brush a lot, which is not great when you don't have a lot of hair to start with but I think this could be solved by taking sections and using the styler as it was probably designed to be used. My second issue was heat. The styler didn't seem to get hot, which on my hair is a good thing. I have fine hair prone to scorching (my hair does not get on well with GHDs) but if I was to use this on a client with normal to thick, coarse hair it wouldn't be hot enough. I'm wondering whether this has something to do with the temp sensor so I'm going to try it and out on a client with thick, stubborn hair and see what happens.

Overall, I'm happy. I like this and would recommend it.

Had a quick go with mine this morning. Blasted it off with the normal dryer then finished it off with the babyliss big hair care. Have come to the conclusion that it will take much longer than the usual blast off and run the straighteners through I usually do before heading out to drop the kids and rush off to work. I might get quicker with practice but this might be for the weekends and going out rather than every day use for me. Having said that, my hair is nice and soft and it was very easy to use.

Daily - all I do it put on my normal product, flip head upside down and blast dry for a min or two so its 80% dry (as per instructions).... then brush it so the parting etc is how I want, and go around each layer / section with the big hair spinning it so the hair curls under. If I want more volume I make sure I pull up from the root on the hair too.

I was terrible at doing hair until I got my first BBH!
