This thread is for the ten Mumsnetters who were chosen by INNOVO® to test and keep their new pelvic floor stimulator, which is designed to alleviate stress incontinence.

Stress incontinence is the term used when leaks accidently occur from coughing, sneezing, laughing, jumping or doing heavy lifting. These simple movements put pressure on the bladder and, should your pelvic floor muscles be unable to tighten enough, will cause a leak. Stress incontinence can also be called bladder weakness or urinary incontinence. INNOVO® is a new pelvic floor stimulator that works to strengthen the muscle and put an end to those pesky leaks.

Here’s what INNOVO™ have to say about their product:
‘Innovotherapy is a non-invasive way to restore your pelvic floor, treating the primary cause of urinary leaks rather than just masking the symptoms. Using a hand held controller that is attached to a two part garment, Innovotherapy sends targeted impulses via conductive pads (attached to your upper thigh and buttocks) to safely and effectively activate the muscles of the pelvic floor. It is a proven technology which has been designed to optimally strengthen your pelvic floor with 180 perfect contractions per session, allowing the device to do your pelvic floor exercises for you.
Results from a research study prove that women who experience stress incontinence will experience significant improvements in as little as four weeks by using INNOVO® five days a week for 30 minutes. After 12 weeks of treatment the participants were defined as being ‘dry’ or ‘almost dry’. So it won’t take long to get your confidence back’

Testers were asked to use the product for thirty minutes per day, five times per week, over a twelve week period – the recommended treatment programme from INNOVO®.

Testers, please answer the following questions:

  • How did you find the process of learning to use INNOVO®? Did you receive support where needed?
  • What did you do to pass the time while using INNOVO®?
  • What did the sensation of using INNOVO® feel like?
  • Have you noticed an improvement in the strength of your pelvic floor after testing for 12 weeks? If so, when did you first start to notice the improvement? What activities/ actions can you do now that you couldn’t before?
  • Would you recommend INNOVO® to a friend with bladder sensitivity?

Non testers, in order to be entered into the prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win an INNOVO® worth £249, please tell us how the machine would improve your life by strengthening your pelvic floor.

All testers who complete the feedback process will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 Love2Shop Voucher.

    Thanks, MNHQ

Hi I have been thinking about purchasing one of these but would like advice on whether it would help me. I don't leak when I jump up and down cough or sneeze, I do a bounce fit class regular and don't leak. The problem I have is that I can not hold myself, as soon as I feel I need to go to the loo I have to go there and then because I can not hold it so I'm guessing it's a weak bladder so would the innovo help me?

It'll mean I can go on my son's new trampoline without any worry. Have fun with him instead of turning down his offer to play. It'll mean I won't feel scared to sneeze when at work or when out in public. It'll mean I w9nt have to run to the toilet as who k as I can to make it in time.

Would love to try out one of these if the opportunity strikes again -

Presently trying the Contiform which you insert.
I had my first embarrassing Zumba class last week due to leakage...

  • Zumba class tonight so will see if the Contiform works -(hopefully only fingers crossed and not legs)
Cannot justify the price for the Innovo but perhaps will save up as would love not to insert anything anywhere in the future :) x

Hi Everyone,

The winner of the £300 Love2Shop voucher is mostlyrain and the winner of the non-tester prize draw is Dessallara.

Congrats to both of you! Grin

We're really pleased that this has generated a lot of conversation around bladder sensitivity, and INNOVO would like you to know that that they also offer a pay by instalment option dividing the costs into 6 payments of £41.50.

Non-tester - wow, I'm impressed by all the feedback. I seem to have hit a plateau of how much I can improve things post-babies with pelvic floor exercises alone, and I still live with the fear of leaks, so one of these would be amazing.

I would love to win this as my pelvic floor has no squeeze which means I have urge and stress incontinence and have to wear really fat horrible uncomfortable pads. Would probably really change my life. Xxxx

After 5 kids in the last 8 years my pelvic floor is non existing I think ! I can't even cough without the dreaded happening and even just walking can make it happen which is not good when you're in the supermarket. It'd make it stronger than exercising alone (it doesnt seem to do much when i do them) and it'd make me more confident that I'm not going to smell if pee in front of everyone

Non tester - it'd be amazing to win and get to try this machine. The pregnancy although very worthy changes so much in your body it would be absolutely amazing to fix at least one of the side effects.

Non-tester here.

Something like this would improve my life no end! I've recently started dieting and exercising to improve my overall health (plus new dp and I want to try for a baby) but the exercise is proving difficult when I leak everytime I jog or jump Sad
Plus I feel like an oap and I'm only 31 Blush

You know the feeling when you sneeze and tinkle right after....yes, even after giving birth im still struggling with that. I also have horrible whatever and the combination has given me some pretty embarrassing moments...would love to stimulate myself out of that ;)

Non Tester..
I would love to try the Innovo and would be highly motivated to use it for thirty minutes a day to help improve my stress incontinence which has been such a problem since having 3 daughters. I am strict on doing my kegel exercises but not sure if I am doing them correctly so this bit of kit would ensure what I do is having a positive impact. The thought of not being able to exercise, walk, sneeze, cough etc without an embarrassing leak is keeping me focused for a 'dry' future, but a helping hand from Innova would be extremely welcome and fantastic.

Non tester, I'd love one of these, I suffer from stress in continence, I'm 43 and concerned it's just going to get worse. My mum in her 70s is terrible with it and I dont want to be like that. I'd hope that this could improve my life by not worrying where the nearest toilet is all the time

It would make a huge difference to be able to exercise without worrying about pads. Please choose me - I'm training for a half-marathon and having one less thing to worry about i.e. my continence, would be wonderful!

Are you sure that pelvic stimulator is not a euphemism?

Like "personal massager"?
