Kaspersky Lab, have asked us to find 75 Mumsnetters who would like to try Kaspersky Safe Kids at home.

Here’s what Kaspersky say, “The Internet can be a powerful education tool for your children – but only if you can protect them from digital dangers. Kaspersky Safe Kids helps you find safer ways for your children to explore the digital world. With device usage scheduling, automatic notifications about suspicious activities, GPS safe zones and summaries of what they’re searching, seeing and sharing… you can stay connected with your kids and help keep them safe.

“Join more than 400 million users worldwide who trust in Kaspersky Lab to keep them safe online.”

Testers will be given an activation code which they can use to install Kaspersky Safe Kids on to their devices (desktop/laptop/mobile) for free. Testers will then be required to answer a set of questions on a feedback thread on Mumsnet.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child over the age of six.

All testers who post their feedback on Mumsnet will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

If you’re interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Thanks for all your comments so far. Holstein, Kaspersky would like to reply to your question by saying,

"There are different ways to set up internet usage,

· Web activity monitoring: Here you can see full statistics and can set up restrictions/permissions for website categories or single websites.

· Safe Search: This will exclude potentially dangerous websites from search results so that unsafe website are not even found in e.g. a Google Search

· Alerts about restricted searching: This sends a notification to your smartphone/tablet when a kid attempts to e.g. search for adult content"

I'll give it a go. I agree the info isn't entirely clear on the website, but with two iPad obsessed DSs any things worth a try. Smile

Information from their website doesn't display on an iPad.
Doesn't fill me with confidence.

I'm not sure I understand from their website how it works. Does it just let them browse anything, but tell you which sites? How is that safe?
