Has anyone else lost a twin baby at relatively early gestation ?

Have you told the surviving baby?

I'm regretting not bringing up our surviving baby knowing there were two and every time I think we should tell them there is something else going on in their lives and I worry if it goes wrong it will be too much for them.

I lost one twin at about 8 weeks, still makes me a little sad when I see twin babies now as it makes me think about what could have been. I will tell my daughter when she is older and seems emotionally able to understand I think.

We found out we were having twins after some spotting on an early scan around 5-6 weeks. She was posting all over social media that day. I was concerned as I know twins are risky and tried to get her to be cautious as of how common it is for one to not make it to the end. She has enough depression issues as it is and loosing a baby like that might have killed her I feel. She did not take it well and it nearly ended and 5 year relationship, although luckily there were no issues in the end for us.
