3 car seats in the back of a Tucson?!?

Found out we are having twins (due Jan) at our scan this week, despite being told on an earlier scan "there is definitely only one"! very excited but nervous about being able to manage, particularly stressed about car seats.

We have just bought a Hyundai Tucson a few months ago, no chance of buying another car at the moment. We already have a 5 year old in a high backed booster and worrying about how on earth we can fit another 2 car seats in there and leave room for me and hubby! Does anyone have any advice? Would be willing to get a narrower booster if it would help. Just so confused by it all. We also only have isofix on the back 2 seats so not in middle seat or front passenger seat.

Our previous car was a fiat 500 so at least its got a bit more room than that Grin

I don't know how big the Tucson is but my experience is that most largeish cars can accommodate 3 seats if you ditch the isofix based and install on seat belts. We have 2 baby seats in on seatbelts and a high back booster which is most definitely not space saving (but was the one we had) on the isofix. We could have made more space with one of those extender bars, and maybe even used one of the bases, but they've been very sold out lately and only available at huge price on eBay. We have a mid sized suv, definitely not extremely roomy.

I have a skoda karoq and although it's not a Tuscon I think they are the same size cars. In fact I think the Tuscon is a few cm's wider. I spent hours in halfords whilst preganant with my twins, as I also had a 3 year old. After lots of combinations tried. We managed to get 2 maxi cosi car seats (1 cabriofix and 1 pebble) on isofix bases on either side of this seat for my 3 year old www.halfords.com/baby-and-child/car-seats/toddler-car-seats/halfords-essentials-group-1%2F2%2F3-child-car-seat-131670.html?stockInventory=undefined&_gl=112t7l4f_upMQ.._gaMTU2MjgzMzgxNS4xNjc3NzA2NDgx_ga_VK44BRER97*MTY3NzcwNjQ4Ni4xLjEuMTY3NzcwNjQ4Ny4wLjAuMA..

I would suggest going to Halfords or a similar shop and trying combinations. As when I tried to find the answer for this I found everyone saying it wasn't possible

@Purplestrawberry2
Did you figure out a combination that worked? We have a 2018 Tucson and just found out we are having twins also. Our daughter will be 4 so hoping we can find a booster that will fit in between two isofix car seats and save us getting a new car.

Thanks - multimac definitely out of our price range! Reassurring to know you fitted everything in an astra - going to go and try different combinations

We managed to get two newborn car seats either side of a high backed booster across the back of our Vauxhall Astra, will that definitely not fit in your hyundai?. Or put the HBB in the front seat and an adult sit between the two newborn seats?

Of not if. Although for the price of one you may be able to buy a second hand 7 seater

Theres a thing called multimac that can be up to 4 child seats across the back if a 3 seater. Not sure if it's within your budget
