Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

burst cyst or miscarriage

At 5 weeks pregnant I had major pain on one side so duely went off to see doc in case of eptopic pregnancy. Got referred to Early pregnancy unit. A scan showed that I probably had a cyst that burst and that there was some 'free fluid' still around. The feotus was still there but to early for heartbeat and the sac a little big. I am to go back in 12 days for further scan
Yesterday (day after scan) I had a bleed -one big gush and since then nothing. I phoned unit
who said just to take it easy and let it happen, only to call if major blood loss etc.
I still have my appointment but the next 12 days are going to drive me mad.
Essentially the question is does this sound like a miscarriage or is it possible that this was just the fluid from the cyst?
I have had a miscarriage before but at 12 weeks, which was totally different from this, so am now confused. I am assuming that its gone, but not taking any risk until its confirmed.
I know no-one will have the answer I just have to wait ut wondered if any-one else had anything similar - i.e. a miscarriage that stopped as suddenly as it started.?

hi mrsseed... you poor thing, its horrible not knowing, and i have no advice...all i can say is that a pg test prob won't really be able to be conclusive as your body can continue to produce hcg after mc... i know that isn't what you want to hear but you could just mess yourself up more as you won't be able to be sure until your appt anyway.

i'm sorry its such a horrible time and wish there was something i could say that would help

x

Thanks for your thoughts, I'm going to give it a few days and take a pregnancy test, see if that still shows hcg.

So sorry to hear about this. You must be so worried. I had a similar 'big gush' with my first pregnancy at 7 weeks. On scanning the sonographer could see my baby (by then with tiny heart beat) but also a 'dark patch' just above it which she thought could have been another baby which I'd lost (vanishing twin?).

I know this isn't a history which will stop you worrying but what happened is similar.

I'm thinking of you.
