ERPC Nightmare!

Hi, we had a dating scan last week and sadly discovered our baby had died at 10wks : ( on Monday I had an ERPC and have been in agony since.

By wednesday I was in having extreme cramping which resulted in passing placental tissue. I rushed back into hospital and the tissues was coformed as being placental, after some pain relief I was discharged saying that it must have just been missed in the ERPC and told that the pain should ease as the cervix had closed and to come back for a scan the next day.

By the early hrs of Wednesday the pain became so bad I had to go to A&E after much poking and prodding and a scan later they confirmed some tissue was still left behind, I was given antibiotics just incase of infection.

I am still in a lot of pain 4days after the op, and I feel emotionally and physically drained. Has anyone else had a similar run?

Hi Tiredtrout, it seems to be settling today.

I had very bad Clots yesterday, but I am trying to think positively, my body is still working hard to get rid of the 'retained products' post surgery, wishing I had opted for medical management? I guess I made the decision at the time and that is that.

I am upset that in light of passing more placental tissue on Wednesday it took the hospital until Thursday to entertain the idea of giving me antibiotics? I had to be pretty assertive about them giving them to me, which seems crazy considering all of the symptoms I was having!?
