possible early mc? please help

hello, I'm new here and could really do with a bit of advice

Around 4 days after sex, I had some very light pinkish spotting for a couple of days. This was around 14th jan to 17th feb. I then began what I thought was my period exactly on time around 30th/31st Jan. Very unusually though, there were no signs of my period being due. I normally suffer very bad cramps in the run up, bad outbreaks of spots and often, headaches and mood swings. I had none of this and the 'period' was very light and pale. During this time, I also had a very bad cold/possible flu. The period stopped mid Friday 4th of feb and I just assumed that was it and never bothered taking a test.

Then, on Sunday I woke with very intense cramping pains. It was very sudden and very painful and I felt very light-headed and exhausted. I started bleeding again and it was very bright red and continued into what again, seemed like another period. This has being ongoing until today and has gradually gotten darker in colour and slightly brownish with some clots (sorry)

I'm feeling very down and have had to take the day off work. I'm thinking that perhaps I have had an early miscarriage and was wondering if this sounds about right? I've booked an appointment with my GP for tomorrow in the morning but I'm still bleeding a little, and worried that I might just be wasting her time. I'm feeling very emotional and alone and would really appreciate some words of advice. Thank you.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure this is what has happened from what I've read but I can't be certain as I never did a test. I guess it's best for me to go to the GP to make sure it's not something else as this is very unusual for me. I did ask for a nurse initially but was told there would be a two week wait. I hadn't planned on becoming pregnant but this whole episode has really took it out of me and I feel emotionally drained. I'm so sorry to hear what you went through Rabbit, I hope you'll be feeling better soon and that those close to you are taking good care of you. x

I recently miscarried seven days after I was due to start my period. I was defo pregnant as I took two pregnancy tests which were positive. I had sex the night I was due to bleed and I passed blood which cleared up over the next few days. then i was positive on pregnancy test. then four /five days later i had sex again and this brought on the full bleed. Apparently the sex just hurried up what was already going to happen. It has taken four days for the pregnancy hormones to subside, which is today and I still feel extra tired. I rang my gp who said dont bother coming in. but then two days later i phoned my gp again and they gave me a mid wifes mobile number and she was very helpful.

you will not be wasting your GP's time, make sure you tell her your concerns. it sounds as if it may have been a very early miscarriage but this is not likely to need any intervention if the bleeding is stopping and there is no further pain. hope you are feeling better soon - plan a relaxing weekend for yourself.
