Exh was made redundant in the summer and to be fair shared his money....however he has had MH problems and no fix home, staying between his mum and sister. Keeps putting off applying for benefits. So I have not had anything since September. I work p/t and DC are 11 and 14, rent privately ...get ctc and HB, but really struggling, any help or advice. He's on holiday with his mother ATM, as he's had a hard time!!!??

You need to tell your creditors about your new income and renegotiate repayment plans.

You then need to work out a budget based on your income and if you do get some money for maintenance use it either to put away for a rainy day or for treats - pizza night etc but don't rely on it.

Have you looked into WTC, housing benefit..Like others have said I get £ 10 a fortnight so have to find a way to make it work without his money.

Yes he walked leaving me 35k in debt, all my name as I supported him through uni...'mature' student. Don't get me wrong I grab all the work I can, often juggling up to 3 p/t jobs. But live in very rural area not always able to get work. Renting is so expensive, our rent is £890 a month and no money to relocate!

To be fair you should be able to manage without maintenance if you are getting the correct benefits. You won't have much spare but that's the risk we take having babies with sporadic earners
Do you have big debts or something?

besides even if he does apply for benefits, you will only get a fiver a week for the two kids.

get a better paid job then or work full time, as it doesn't sound like he is going to cough up any time soon.
Sorry to sound harsh but.....
