Completely identifying but hey ho!
For anyone who wants to listen here is me talking about Penrice birth centre and the Bounty Rep at Treliske. Interesting responses but absolute public statement no more bounty from end of this year.
Feel free to share. I'm from 1hr 41 in if you want to skip forward.
For info bounty pay RCHT about £1800 a year. There are 4000 births in a year there. Our privacy and dignity isn't even worth 0.25p.
On the back of my complaint they were given notice.
It's easy to moan and do nothing. Post natally that complaint used all my energy which I could have used focussing on other stuff. However this was a stand worth taking. For every okay experience I hear about 10 negative ones.
Private Marketing reps extracting data have no place in Maternity nor any other part of the hospital.
Next mission. Stop HMRC paying Bounty to distribute Child benefit packs. Why can't the registrar give them out? If money has to exchange hands I'd rather our cash strapped councils got it.
Bounty sales reps distribute child benefit claim forms to new parents on hospital wards as part of a contract with HM Revenue and Customs. An HMRC spokesman said in 2012 it paid Bounty £85,990 to distribute 857,000 child benefit forms (Guardian,2013)
These forms are printed by HMRC and then bounty are paid to give them out. Alternatively parents can print them out.
