Hubby did his SA last month and all the doctor said to him over the phone was that they were "borderline" (not useful at all!) so asked for the results to be posted and really need someone to explain things as it doesn't look great Sad Thanks xx

He abstained for 2 days but he got a bit of 'stage fright' doing it so wondered if that might have an effect on volume? Xx

The only thing that looks abnormal is the amount of semen, everything else looks good. Maybe ask him if it felt/looked less than usual because volume does fluctuate.

Sorry, think I've misread a bit (not a very straightforward report) - looks like the concentration is OK but because the volume is low the total count is low. Did he abstain for a couple of days before the test? If he'd ejaculated less than 24 hours before the test that could explain the low volume. Volume should be between 2.5-5.5 according to my clinic's reference ranges.

Hi there, it looks like he has low semen volume (i.e not a lot of fluid) and low sperm concentration (ideally there shd be over 17mil per ml). So effectively this means a low count. 5% normal forms is fine - anything above 4% is considered OK. Not sure about the motility - my clinic didn't measure things in this way. Did your Dr recommend a treatment plan? Doesn't sound like they're being super helpful or communicative. Best of luck!
