I am shocked and sad for the boy and find it difficult to understand how she could have done this. I have two boys and it sends a shiver down my spine.

On the other hand, she looks like an utterly devastated mess in the photo, and the article says that she lost her partner in 1996. Who knows what a terrifying, confused hell she is living in. Drugs and depression make you crazy.

I think it's horrific what she has put her son through and I'm very glad he is doing well in foster care. But I can't quite bring myself to condemn someone who is clearly in a terrible place herself. for everyone involved.

At least the child will get the help and support he needs to rebuild his life. I wonder whether she will - doubtful IMO
