Church am
Film (C with Meatballs - which was quite good if occasionally a bt offputting - excellent for those on diets)
struggled in palatial new shopping centre to buy stationery for pencil cases - what a horrid place it is with kids in tow..
refused to buy ds a Beano annual which caused major tantrum (told him to save up for it
but rather meanly bought dd a pair of slippers and a new pair of gumboots on her request (she needed them I suppose)

Anyway returned home feeling worn out by the horrors of the Metropolis to more Starwars Excerpts

also did
music practice x 4 with kids
forced ds1 to do some homework (just now)

Ruby how has your working week gone? Did you liven up the quiet party or was it irremediable?

Hello girls. (welcome kitten, you've come to the right place).

Have had a lovely weekend with dad. Went to open day at Railway museum yesterday. It was great. Gave ds the camera, its hilarious the things a 6yo think are worthy of a photo. Lots of petrol cans etc, also some of the pictures are quite arty as taken from his (short arse) point of view . Dad has gone now but I think he had a good time.

I am supposed to be ironing.

After spending all day yesterday with dh cleaning our house, and I mean all day I think i need to join this thread. I used to do flylady and have now fallen into bad habits. House was filthy Even the spiders in the corners of the rooms were sneezing.
Don't want to let it get like that again!

Still got kitchen and bathroom to do and my gigantic paper work pile and then I can do it the Fly way

galen brainwave! We should meet up at Roche Abbey very soon for an hour during the day! It would be lovely to meet you in rl.
Bedroom is 'whisper of choc chip' - a very very pale colour but lovely and calming.
DH taken children swimming. I have just squeezed the bad out of cat's abscess again [yukky emoticon] - must put phone vets on my list for tomorrow. DH actually likes [yukky again] squeezing abscesses - weird!
Not sure what's happening today, DH's parents may be taking DC to Harewood for car rally thing with SIL and her husband but not sure. If so may go to Ikea to order wardrobes!

Morning All Galen & TM Wet beds & middle of the night sorting them out, throws the next day out. Hope you all have an easy day.galen I cleaned the floor with Flash spray & it has left marks on the tiles! Dropped a light bulb on the floor this morning instead!!!!!
Jas I've had to organise two funerals in recent years and I prefer to be part of the organising. It makes me think deeply about my own life. I don't know how to put this but, it comforts me to get family and friends together and remember with fondness the past & reconnect with your past. Does that make sense!
Simply By now I should have had teenagers but, I've got a 4 year old instead. I think by the time my Ds is a teenager he be looking after us!! making sure I don't wander into town still in out nightie
Wendy Your day sounds fab!I think we will go adventuring next Sunday & find somewhere to blackberry pick.
Do you think setting off after church at 11.30pm to late in the day?

Report
swanriver · 20/09/2009 09:45

We were woken at 4.00 by poorly ds2 saying he needed to throw up [yuk]
Then he kept poor dh awake for another 2 hours chatting non-stop
dh now feels v.rough and says he is not leaving house

However all seems calm now, fever has subsided and no more throwing up
BUT today's plans pretty much abandoned (I think DH was taking everyone out all day so that I could clean up

So
plan is
violin practice x 2
ironing
church for some
baked potatoes and veg for lunch
put dd's room back together (URGENT)

also start reading music theory book so that I can understand their practice
start practicing piano so can read music

Jas: it does sound very stressful, hope everyone appreciates how much effort you are putting into this
TM: a change is as good as a rest (re:rooms)
Wendy: what colour is your bedroom now?
Determined to tackle rest of my grimy house myself paintwise - just find things like filling falling down ceilings impossible

Oh dear a tide of moaning kids advancing towards me better dash..

Hello to all. My, you have been busy!

EHM Thanks for your CAT. Will reply after brekkie.

I spent yesterday evening sitting on the sofa sewing up dd's trousers which she likes to have long in the leg and then the hem comes undone and they start getting worn! I've used hemming stuff but I think the only solution is sewing so that's what I'm going to do.

Dh and I were on standby taxi duty last night for ds who was out with friends. He didn't catch the last bus home > but did have a lift to about 3 miles away with a friend so dh collected him from there.

Teenagers!

Jas Well done on all you've done so far. I hope the delivery arrives very soon. I hope you have a lovely belated birthday meet-up.

Back later.

Hiya all
just catching up with the x factor, having watched strictly, which was good.
One of my cats has been in the wars, he keeps fighting with the neighbour's cat, he already has one abscess from the other day, now has two more from two more bites
Bit worried about him really.
Otherwise, went to a lovely abbey today - Roche Abbey, have you been galen, Rotherham way. Really beautiful place and kids loved it, and I spent an hour blackberry picking (which I absolutely love doing!) so we had a good day. Finished painting the walls in the bedroom tonight whilst watching Strictly. Woodwork to do next and touch up the ceiling round the edges. I am so excited about getting wardrobes next and curtains and bedding to match, which I've never had before - I'm a bit giddy!
Anyway, see you all tomorrow, I'm too tired for individs so I'll be back tomorrow
