Wolfcub I hope you soon feel better.

Starbear We all say the wrong thing occasionally. Sometimes we're the ones saying it and sometimes it is said to us. I tend to give others the benefit of the doubt knowing that I make mistakes too. Hopefully your running companions will think the same way. Please don't beat yourself up over it.

Evening All
Just popped in to say Hello Jas Sorry to hear your news It's a tough time with what feels like a lot of organising & paperwork when you least feel able to do it. Hope all goes smoothly.
Have had a tough three days at work, so glad to be off tomorrow. Went running with some Mum's from Nursery after work. It was a good run but I think, I talked too much about a certain subject (I will not repeat it here, I don't want to lose you lot as friends) and I think I've put my big fat feet in it
Why,why, why do I let myself down? I'm such an insensitive bitch. OR I am too sensitive. Only time will tell.
Well, I'm going to have some soup now and plan tomorrow.
Have a lovely sleep everyone Hope all the DS's sleep tight

scattyspice I'm quite a mix. With some things I'm ultra conservative (never smoked, mostly very well behaved in school etc) and in other ways I'm quite off-the-wall. I am in many ways a step-by-step person i.e. I love systems and following them meticulously but I can also come up with lots of crazy ideas and solutions with workable ones in there amongst the impossible ones. I think we're all remarkable in our own way.

TM I love the bed linen my parents had as wedding presents but never used. It is such good quality. It beats all my new linen into a cocked hat.

Right. Anyone tempted to come with me to the Christmas meet-up?

Evening all

Firstly well done to Wendy on the actually just going to a lesson and well done to galen for just getting through the day. Also to jas I think you have done a great job organising all of it, just dont let anyone complain it wasnt what they wanted. You are a wonderful wife.

An extra special fly shout out to Ruby - woopdedoo. Aged sufer chick would go down fine in the school that DS1 is at. He teacher is dead cool and treandy young mum of two boys although a lot of the staff wear black trousers and school T's and fleeces

Orninary I have to say I admire the principal, but an not so with the name. I think you are living a life much less ordinary.......we should all put our heads together and come up with a better name

groucy I hope the day hasnt been to busy - will forward sewing stuff again

Wolf How are you, hope work is not too pants

EHM Hope that Ellie is not over snuffly and that you have had a cuddle day and have a good nights sleep.

leo Only two more sleeps as we would put it

Simply I adore new linen and old new to me linen too!!!

Once my sewing skills improve I have a couple of flowery flannel sheets mum gave me, I am going to make me some PJ bottoms and also the boys some for christmas - not flowery though you never know.

Swan I think I need to come and spent some time at your house, you write so wonderfully. Please start a blog. I want to know more about you all.

Dyls Hope DD had a good day at nursery and that it is not a cold coming.

Finally waves to making changes and anyone else I have missed - sorry.

Boys are in bed asleep, I am going to give the ironing etc a miss for tonight and just relax with DH.

Hello to all.

Yes it's Crunchie day tomorrow galen thank goodness!

My dog is pretty good at stalking the cat but she'd make a rotten sheepdog. When the cat gets scared and tries to run into the house, the dog then runs in front of her and stands in the doorway putting the cat off from coming in which is what I want the cat to do! She also tries to deliberately pick fights with swans and doesn't like horses, not even police horses. I try telling her not to get on the wrong side of "the law" but does she listen?!

RR Congratulations on your job! I'm probably the last person to ask about clothes. I shop at Boden, M&S, Dorothy Perkins and that's about it really as I live in the back of beyond shops wise. All my Boden and most of my M&S purchases are online orders. I have a work colleague who almost always wears black trousers and a nicely fitting top and she always looks smart enough and it's very practical clothing so fits in with her hands-on IT job very well.

You've done well Jas to do all that organising. I hope it all goes smoothly.

swanriver My cat was on the sofa earlier with her face hidden behind a cushion. I couldn't work out if she was hiding from me so I gently moved the cushion and she looked at me in a slightly bleary way so perhaps she was having a snooze until I rudely disturbed her!

My revised done list:-
~ most of the ironing
~ washed 5 (I think it was) duvets and dried them. They are now airing.
~ cut the grass with the dog helping me
~ tidied up the living room a miniscule amount
~ kitchen stuff

To do tomorrow:-
~ finish the ironing
~ sewing
~ return some stuff to John Lewis
~ put new pillows on beds unless I can find some pillow protectors online first as my Debenhams ones aren't available
~ make a cake

See you tomorrow!

Well I've been pretty useless today but did make packed tea to take to kids' friends' house and took them on 'playdate' (I hate American expressions but it is the best word for it).

I made a special effort to come home a bit earlier than usual and do the children's reading books and this is probably my most important 'achievement' of the day.

Mad (oops, sorry, TM!)not superbad - superdouper! Could happen to anyone.

Swimming lesson went well! Managed to do lots of practice at breast stroke leg kicks and 2 (!) strokes with no float! I'm such a perfectionist you'd think I would be happy for my first ever lesson! i think I'll be more relaxed next time which will help.

Galen you so brilliant, I would probably just serve oven chips and ready meals if I had a brood like yours to look after, I don't even know how you get through the iroing, let alone all the fab things you do with them. Give yourself a break and have an easy day tomorrow!

everyone sorry gotta go, meant to be painting a wall with DH and said I'd be 2 minutes 10 minutes ago!

Jas - That must have been a weight off everyone's minds - especially if they are all dealing with the loss itself.

Homework/music practice hour has been just as hideous as I thought - all dcs taking it in turns to have tantrums, but for some reason behaving beautifully when others screaming so it can't be the homework really..
Worst of all is ds1's singing because neither I nor he can't work out wretched tune as I am so bad at reading music, and not good enough to play it on piano (too many sharps Youtube has the song but sung by old men in pub in a different key, it does sound a mite different.

Anyway have given up getting angry. Cat is hiding. Everything's done, mess surrounds us, supper next.

Your house sounds v. calm TM I need some lovely onion gravy to swim through to bedtime in.

Evening all.

I hope everyones children settle into the new school year soon. There seem to be lots of mentions of tears and upset

I am feeling quite proud of myself today....I have arranged the funeral.....not just booked it with a funeral director. I ordered the coffin, booked the crem, all myself. I need to fill in lots of forms tonight and ring the hospital tomorrow but I think I'm done with the organising.

scatty I got the job because I'm a control freak and dp and his entire family would never get anything done without a rocket behind them!

Oh yes Galen, Dh has completely altered mornng routine, he declares for the better, by simple mechanism.
He tells kids to get dressed.
Then he puts on StarWars for 30 mins.
Just while "painter is here".
So far working well Must stop this soon as we are going backwards TV wise.

We had a meltdown after Brownies yest, which made me feel very badtempered and sort of angry that she had to have this stress in her life whilst feeling I couldn't do anything about it except NOT send her to Brownies iyswim [tense negative thoughts whirling round one's head emoticon}

Oh TM that sounds truly stressful Trust me you are a wonderful mum, not super bad at all. These things happen.... remeber the time my DS2 FELL OUT of the trolley(whilst strapped in?!) whe he was 10 months old? I felt like the worlds worst mum ....but he was fine and you move on! Glad he wasnt too badly hurt - lots of cuddles will do the trick

ordinarySAHM being "ordinary " is my ambition in life too lol Sometimes our family life is so hectic and chaotic I have been known to mutter things like I just want to be an ORDINARY family LOL
Not sure I'll ever make it that far though. Well done on reaching ordinary contentment!

simply your dog sounds fab!I think I could do with a dog like that to "stalk" DS2 and stop him getting up to mischief.... do you hire her out LOL

Well afternoon not progressed much.
Am still sitting on sofa, with doggy curled up asleep next to me....have been researching children's dentists and dog food - otherwise known as wasting time on the internet to avoid all other more pressing yet less appealing tasks....

now off for school pick up...dineer not sorted to chaos will follow....oh need to get motivated....why is it so cold today....

HI all

Shopping was truly awful.

DS2 was leaning into the trolley to get some fruit loaf and it tipped on top of him . He is OK, but I was left shaking and crying. He went blue and passed out from breath withholding and then screammed the store down. Thankfully the only damage was to his pride. He has a sore and bruised leg too.

He has had lots of treats and cuddles since we got back and I have only just managed to get the shopping away.

Never, ever put 20 pints of milk on one side of a shallow trolley. I feel like a super bad mum.
