Hello everyone, I really hope you all don't mind I've jumped on board your ship, you seem like a lovely caring lot. I don't know how some of you do so much in your lives, I'm a SAHM with only 1DS and I feel like I don't have time to sit still long enough to read through the posts propery. I imagine you must all have vast houses that have plenty of hidey holes for storage and lots of friends/ family/ staff(!) to help you all manage. I feel busy all the time but I'm not on top of my little crew.

Anyway, back to today

Evening all
POpping in very briefly as extremely tired and had V hectic day!
just wanted to say though:
gib so sorry you have had a rough time. How on earth you have been managing to home ed 4 DC and do ANYTHING else I do not know! When I was HEdding it really took up ALL of my time. What with the groups, and trips, and extra stuff (dancing/drama etc...) they did, together with trying to fir in more formal learning stuff now and then....it was all I could do to keep the house from falling apart totally. There is no way in the world I would have been able to balance that with a job outside the home. So I think you have been doing amazingly, but it does sound like it is time for something to give. Can you try talking to DH again...explain to him that is important for you to function well and to feel in control to have a tidy ouse, and that you feel you re just too stretched just now?? Would it be a big strain financial? I hope you manage to come to a decsion that works for you all. Meantime be gentle on yourself, rest up as much as you can. Dont put too much pressure on yourself re the HEdding stuff...it's the last few weeks of school term anyway...just start the holidays early LOL!

mad When are you off camping? Hope you have a great time...

right gotta go...D1 and Ds1 back from BBQ in a minute...still nothing packed for wk/end, 1/2 of washing pike still to sort...
BUT have got passport photos witnessed hooooorrraaayyy! Now just need to track down DD1 birth cert, DS2 birth cert, and our marriage cert...all strangely AWOL from the importantd ocuments file...sigh

Tomorrow ladies

Hello Again

Gib I know how you feel so much empathy from me. You can't be everything to everyone if you end up nothing to yourself. (Ooops, more motivational homilies) Rest up and be kind to yourself.

Prof and Mad My thought that gets me through the stuff is 'It's mind over matter - if you don't mind it doesn't matter.' Well, it works for me

Additional FLYing

Made lunch
Went to work
Helped out at the Marie Curie Coffee Morning type thing
Did some govenor stuff
Talked to Ed's OT
Went to school fair (Got dad's day gift for DH, spent about a fiver for school funds)
Home trek
Bring in washing
Fold washing into piles (Putting away, smalls, ironing)
Make a snack tea
Sort out problem with TV (dead batterries in the remote
Get (another) book online for Ed (Yay Red House!)
Check mails etc

I'm a bit tired now so I better take it steady. I have an early start tomorrow as I want to sign Ed up for swimming lessons so I need to be at the baths for 9am. He was doggy paddling very well last night so I think he needs some proper input now.

Fair was good, well attended and all my smellys seem to have gone to new homes. It's great that the school is becoming accepted as a community resource TBH.

I'll wish you all a lovely sunny evening. See you tomorrow

audley That turkey pie sounds great! I fancied doing what I call proper cooking yesterday but I remembered that I didn't have what I needed, nor time to do it anyway. Oh well. In my house we have YMCA now and again. It stands for Yesterday's Muck Cooked Again. It's actually usually left over shepherd's pie or chilli con carne or casserole and it's often remarked upon as being nicer than the previous day!

gibbberish I've just sent you an e-mail. Actually, reading the thread again, I've said the same as Jas.

To do:-
~ tidy up the kitchen
~ empty the kitchen washing basket

Done:-
~ dry and put washing up away
~ cut the grass
~ signed for the parcel
~ various other bits and bobs

Right. Off to do some more. I don't think I'll be posting later. It'll probably be tomorrow now. See you then!

Thanks so much. It really means a lot to me that you care. Feeling very upset about not being able to cope with everything but something does have to give. Can't keep on living at this pace.

Went shopping and sat for 10 mins in the car just listening to the peace and quiet. Think I need a break.

swan I work for an outside company, but dh also wants me to do a lot for our business too. Is pressuring me constantly and I just physically can't find the time to do it. Feel like I am so stretched that I am not making a good job of anything. Not giving the girls the attention they need, not being able to concentrate properly at work (and my boss has noticed and has been very ratty with me) etc. Infact the only thing I have been keeping on top of is the house. It is my control mechanism - if I organise that I almost feel like I am coping. But dh thinks I have a problem with it...

Aaargh sorry to vent! Just feeling sorry for myself.

Been shopping. Off to hoover, dust and clean the bathrooms.

Thanks again everyone, it really means a huge lot to me just being able to talk about this.

Gib My deapest sypathies you have had so much to go through with DD1, its no wonder you are feeling overwelmed. I have no idea how you hold down a PT job, Home Ed, Dancing Lessons, Riding and keep house - something has to give. Take care my dear friend.

Strip beds - done
Bedding in washer - done
DS1 to Preschool - done
Bedding back on - Done
Ironing - started
Hoover up and down
Polish downstairs - done - with a mediterian moment too
mop downstairs
DS1 from Preschool - done
put ironing away
Whats for lunch - done
sort out clothes to pack
Start putting things into the garage
Make up first aid kit - done
DS2 to GP - done
Whats for dinner

Phew I am knackered. I have also made large train set in DS1's bedroom to try to keep the boys occupied.

Played the hockey cokey with the washing

Spoke to Consultant Phyc - regarding medication.

I NEED to come home to a clean house and no washing or ironing.

Gibbberish, hope you're alright, I was worried that you'd deserted us completely; you were really inspiring me for one, by all that whizzing around and yet time for fun and being with family.
Are you working for your dh, or is an outside co?

Still plodding here...
need to just go now
TOWN for presents past and future
then back to make stew for supper

then ironing to do and put away (ironing board is now in bedroom which is working well, except never quiiiiite gets done)

other small goal - sweep under both garden benches which will soon be growing mushrooms at this rate.

Good that you've found solution to garage prob Dylsmum, sorry about tiredness.
