Right, me, DD and DH have all been ill and have moped around for days. Need to get a move on with things as house is now a tip.

Want to get done today:

DH to do washing up
DH to Clean microwave which is really awful.
I need to Tidy our bedroom
I need to do some washing, dry it and put it away.
I need to get big box of DDs next size up clothes out and put them all in her cupboard/draws etc.
Both need to measure rooms for potentially swapping them round after New Year.
Both need to tidy living room and hallway and give it a hoover and wipe down sides etc.

Also need to take DD out for a walk to get us all some fresh air.

Anybody want to join me in a housework day? Or Give me a good kick up the bum to get it done? DH is still in bed, as we have been taking it in turns in catching up with sleep after being ill. DD is here making mess quicker than I can clear it and being clingy.

Have spent a good hour or so upstairs in the bedroom but still lots to do. DH up now but he is not doing anything

Going back up soon with some cleaning products and rubber gloves!!

Have got loads of washing too that I found hidden all over the bedroom . So my airer and tumble dryer will both be in constant use between now and Christmas! Roll on the expensive electricity bills!

Anybody still with me?

Have turned down party invite now as I think DD isn't up to it anyway as she can't stop coughing and it is really upsetting her.

DH STILL in bed, have tried to get him up but no luck. He should hopefully bring sheets down with him though.

Have just put DD down for a nap. I am actually quite tempted to go and sort through our room, with DH in bed as that is what I am in the mood to do and very fed up of being down here!

Can't do DDs room till she wakes up, although I have done some of it this morning but she didn't let me do loads.

Also going to throw all DDs plastic toys in the bath for a clean and will soak wit a couple of milton tablets. All covered in snot etc whic I am sure isn't helping! Her balls from her ball pit are too but might just put them in the bath with her tonight as she would love that and they are only a few days old so not as grubby as the rest.

Well done DoubleBluff, you have done loads already! DD didn't get up till gone 10am So I didn't either!

Have just shoved a wash on.

Forgot to say that I also want to get bed sheets changed and washed.

I am pregnant too so everything takes me 10 times as long. About to turn TV off too and DD has covered herself in her Juice she was drinking so now got to get her changed.

Wil see if she will go down for her nap as she is very grumpy. Can't take her to the Party like this anyway!

ARGH we have now been invited out to a birthday party of somebody with a DD the same age as mine (a few days apart). Would love to go but it is really short notice. It starts at 4pm and would need to get showered etc.

But I REALLY wanted to get the house sorted today, so torn between what to do.

DD stil has a cough and cold but the Mum said she didn't mind that.

I am torn now!!!

DD is almost 1.

Have put the TV on for her now and given her some milk. I don't like her to watch too much telly but she wasn't happy anyway and I certainly wasn't getting anything done. So now have about half hour of in the night garden to make the most of.

Off to do what you said and stick a load of washing on! Kitchen is tiny so can't take DD In so I think I will have to leave that til she is having a nap as I don't like leaving her in here on her own for more than a couple of mins and only when TV is on.

I'll join you - although a bit of it isn't actually houswork as my best friend (bless her) tidied and hoovered my lounge/diner for me when she was babysitting DS3 for an hour this morning (and it was by FAR the worst room in the house).

So today I still need to

  • Try and get hold of exH to find out whether he's any more idea whtehr it will be later this evening, or first thing tomorrow he picks the DS's up

  • Iron

  • Go to town for new ceiling decorations and lights for the window

  • Dinnner?? (depends on the response to the first one)

  • Pack the DS's stuff for staying with exH

  • Get the Christmas Cards hung up

  • Tidy the dining room table

  • Sweep and mop the bathroom and kitchen floors

  • Put dishwasher on

May add more later.

Get a load of washing on straight away - quick and easy and makes you feel like you've made a start. And, even though DH is supposed to be washing up, it doesn't take long to whisk round the kitchen - wash up and wipe surfaces with a good blast of spray - makes everything feel cleaner. Leave the microwave for DH later.

How old is DD? - can she be put at the table with an old mat down and drawing/colouring/playdough - while you whizz round with hoover?

After you've all been poorly, shaking out bedding and pillows and making beds up/opening bedroom windows makes those rooms feel fresher.

Then out for a walk!
