House is a shit hole! Need to find time to get it tidy!!
DD's have contact with their Dad for 3 hours tomorrow so i would like to spend some of that time with DS's.

Most of the kids packing is done though. Just need to sort my clothes out and decide what to take. Still not sure about halloween costume!

Way Hey EHM congrats and welcome back

finishing the day off. DS has been so lovely today and I have the final load in the dishwasher. Decluttered and degreased everything in the kitchen, Unblocked the bath (DS put 1/2 a box of bicarb down the drain Trust kettle of boiling water shifted it) Made tea, tidied away, DW and WM on, sort out drying laundry, bath for DS and me and DS has conked out on his dad's side of the bed.

I think I've done OK on my own today

quick hello to ALL for those of you who don't already know. Arrived back from my parents yesterday a few days early. I passed my driving test on Friday afternoon

So pleased with myself the 25 hours of intensive driving really paid off, very hard work. Hopefully I get a chance to catch up with you all properly during the coming week.

xxxxxxx

Good evening (afternoon...feels like evening it's so dark!)

Ruby Broad Haven is lovely, we used to go tot that area on family holidays when I was little

We have been to Ikea today! Mad going on a Sunday but it actually wasn't too bad. We picked up a new desk for downstairs - our old one is borrowed from my parents and they want it back. We alos bought bright picture frames for the kids artwork, some kids toy storage boxes (for the ever expanding collection of lego) and a few packets of mini dime bars and meatballs

Had a lovely day yesterday - worked till mid aft then took the kids to see HSM3 They loved it! (dh and I enjoyed seeing them enjoy it iykwim?) We bought the sound track on the way out of the cinema so dd has been busy learning the songs already

It doesn't look as though I'll be abel to work tomorrow as PiL have let me down re childcare...I notice it's me who has to sacrifce work, not dh I enjoy my Mondays at work as the member of staff I work with and I have a good laugh so I'll miss out tomorrow

I know what you mean. We had the same problem fior a long time. As they have got older, they are interested in very different things and it is not a problem any more

I'll have another think....

Jas - the problem with having two DDs is that DD1 has had most things already. We have several dolls including a baby annabel. The umbrella buggy we had is on its last legs hence the upgrade. She loves Peppa Pig but is getting some of that stuff for her birthday (also Dec). Night Garden has been reserved by ILs and Little People by my parents which doesnt leave much for us. If I'm honest, I want to get her something more so that DD1 sees that DD2 gets as much iyswim. Any ideas gratefully received.

Mad people, with all that clearing out and cleaning!

Thanks for the suggestion Anne - just what I needed

It all went well, and dp kept ds at home so I didn't have to try and entertain him, and he tidied and hoovered while we were out

Anne - does she have a nice doll already to go with the pushchair? DD2 biggest hit at that age was a dolls house (plastic, about £15, still gets played with 6 years on)....

Hello Me again!

Single mum day today. DH is on his way to Wembley and won't be back til tomorrow afternoon.

Luda I too have done something daft. I decided to take the creal down and clean it. All of it I don't think it's been done for over 10 years and worse still we don't have a cooker hood The whole thing was thick with grease n grime.

I've soaked it in the bath with loads of soda crystals. The bath looks like a 'before' scenario in Cillit Bang advert

I'n now cleaning the tops of the cupboards and shelves. DS has been helpful, scrubbing stuff in the bath I'll let him do the housework chemistry bit when you put bicarb and vinegar down the drain. He loves making a volcano

I've put the airer up now, that was a job and a half, had to search the net for instructions for the pulleys Got it up, loaded it with the utensils and...a rope slipped and down it came Ho hum

Think I'll load the DW (again) and start tea.

Oh cripes! I have managed to create Sunday Mayhem here! I decided it was a good idea to clear the shed out.... not one of my better ideas!

The whole house is just a complete disaster!

Lego everywhere!
Kids room never stays tidy for more than about 2 hours (if I'm lucky)
Kitchen is just a medly of crockery/clothes/unhomed random objects
Living room is just a state....cushions/dressing gowns/clothes/art attack stuff.....

Bathroom and toilets need a good clean...our bedroom is under a heap of clean/dirty washing piles, dh's lego, old portable tv we can't find a home for and I'm not even sure if it works or not...

AAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!

Morning all

We woke up this morning oblivious to the fact the clocks have gone back. We got up about 8am but at about 10am we realised! So we really got up about 7ish.

I have a mountain of stuff to do today, including a food shop.

Jas - Best wishes on your special day as you are welcomed into your faith. Or something like that.

DD2 is getting a dolls pushchair & car seat from FC (worth about £15 but I got them for £2 in a sale earlier in the year . And I have lots of stocking fillers.

DD1 is getting a Polly Pocket race track from FC and a Polly Pocket pet parade thing from us.

I have only just changed our clocks, so it was 7 when ds woke up, butI've had two 8ams

Any idea what is wrong with the heating, MAD?

No idea re presents.....what is she getting already?

DS is getting second hand/recycled presents while I can still get away with it this year!

I'm also not good with car seats. DS has a fairly cheap Argos one, but no idea re reviews....

What do you write in a card for an adult baptism any one??? Quick ideas if poss. I have to leave at 10!

Report
TheMadHouse · 26/10/2008 08:24

Anne No idea - the second one is always harder. DS1 has loads of things that DS2 plays with, but doesnt really want for anything himself

Yum - I have my christmas puddings all steaming away. Have made 5 to give away, 1 for us and then a tasting one for tomorrow

I also have made bread rolls.

Christmas cake will be done tomorrow and then I need to start soaking the fruit for the next cake.

We are on a baking thing over the half term. We got the usborne baking with children book from schoollink and it has some great ideas. I just need inspiration sometimes. I heart my bero book and have bought one for my friend for christmas.

Flywise, house is ticking over, I need to iron tomorrow and pop a wash on, but that is it.
