Pink felt tip pen all over wooden chest of drawers. Help!

DD got up early this morning and had herself a nice little art session all over the wooden drawers in her room. I've tried washing it off with hot soapy water and a little bit came off, but there is still a noticable mess. Any tips?

twinky I've sent you an e-mail. A piece of the product I mentioned is in an envelope ready to be posted to you tomorrow.

twinky I sent you a CAT but I'm sorry, I haven't checked my e-mail address for a few days (it is a different one to my normal one plus we've had a new PC and the messages from it now have to be got a roundabout way by dh doing something) but I'll ask him to check it tonight. I haven't forgotten. I can't put my hand on the stuff I've promised to send also, but it's here somewhere.

twinky I'll send you a message via CAT. Just need to mention that we've recently had a new PC and I need to change my e-mail address to a new one that hasn't been set up yet. If we refer back to this thread if we fail to contact each other by e-mail then it'll be fine. Will CAT you now.

A quick wave to notasheep my local friend, though we've still not met up yet!

Oh that would be great Simplysparkling. Thankyou for that. Not sure what CAT means though. I'm a bit new to all this.

twinky I could cut a bit off and pop it in an envelope for you so that you can try it without buying a whole one. Shall I CAT you to get your address?

or those Flash erasers - foamy white block things - are pretty good too

Thankyou ladies. It's varnished I think. It's one of those IKEA convertible changing tables so pretty basic but still... Will try the Lakeland thing. Have just sent her to her room because she's decided to try her hand at wallpaper stripping too. Obviously it's going to be one of those days. Thanks again.

Sorry, no help at all, but I did this when I was little - I drew a tresure map on the side of a wooden chest of drawers (a long wiggly line with a cross at one end). It is still there now, 25 years later. My mum loves it! Well, she loves it now.

Sorry, realise that wasn't in any way helpful ... I'll get my coat ...

You could try this:- Debbie Meyer's E-Z kleen'r. I used it on a paint stain that wouldn't come off wood and it took it away with just a bit of water and a gentle rub and it's taken marks off paintwork etc etc. I think I got it from Lakeland Ltd.

how is it finished?
varnished? painted? raw wood?
