So today I have...
Decluttered my clothes, shoes, drawers and wardrobe,
Deep cleaned the bathroom,
Washed and remade all beds,
Hoovered properly upstairs,
Decluttered and organized the airing cupboard,
Cleared out huge upstairs cupboard and reorganized,
Made room for all the dds new Christmas presents (sneaked out two no bags full of crap in order to make room!!)
7 bin bags of crap have left the house today, is it sad that I'm really excited!Grin
Starting downstairs tomorrowWine

Six black sacks and two massive boxes full of cardboard - out of the loft - gone to the tip today!! I am on a mission. Took me half hour just to get in the tip today - everyone had the same idea!

Tonight - wild thing that I am - I emptied the cupboard under the dresser and chucked and chucked and shredded!

Recycling bins are full but go tomorrow so I can fill em up again!

Morning ladies!

lists keep going! When there is lots to do it seems so fruitless at first, but at some point you will look around and notice it all at once and be so pleased.

Yesterday I only managed to clean the bathroom, chuck out a bag of shoes and put away the last few Xmas presents. Then spent an hour pottering around achieving not very much apart from putting the washing away.

Then we ended up popping to B&Q and buying paint and new light fittings for the hallway, plus a lampshade for the lounge (which means that room is now totally finished YAY!).

Today DS is going to his grandma's so I'm going to do some painting. Just trying to decide between the hallway and kitchen though. Both need doing

Mornin' all. Went through two drawers yesterday and threw out literally hundreds of receipts and credit card statements. Spent hours going through them and then chopping up my personal info into tiny pieces. (It was one of my "Oh shit, if I die (even though it won't really matter), I don't want anyone else to see the crap I've accumulated places." Blush)

The day before I tackled the floor under the stairs. The vacuum cleaner and ironing board now have a comfortable space again! I also bagged up two sacks of clothes from the (very tall) ironing pile for charity.

Today I will have to pay a bit more attention to the DC's but I plan on getting up now to do a bit more (the press with tupperware crap needs a serious declutter).

Don't get jealous hoopyloopycow but we are ordering a skip in January. I will be as ruthless as possible Grin Plenty of stuff has been earmarked for it.

Cleared out four kitchen cupboards today, still got a bit more to go in there. Also bagged up and sent two lots of clothes to clothes recycling and cleared one level of airing cupboard.

Dh got in on the act. I suggested one shelf at a time of the bookshelf but that 'isn't how I do it' so he managed to get it all over the sitting room and went to buy two huge boxes which are sitting in the middle on top of the mess, then he got fed up and went to bed Angry.

Looked at book case on landing last night and foundty s another bag of books for charity. I didn't even get to the bottom two shelves so suspect there will be more

Martinrhodes, love the idea of going through the ironing pile for charity. Might follow your example :)

Sent DS to the MIL with a bag of stuff that is 'for grandma's house' that somehow finds its way back here, so that's a bit more stuff cleared.

I've sanded and cleaned the walls for painting in the hallway/stairs/landing. Just having a cuppa while they dry off and then I'm going to paint!

I've also just stuck an old single bed from the spare room on gumtree for free. Will also post it on local selling Facebook groups now. Once that's gone I'll be able to sort that room out. It's where all of the boxes that we never got round to unpacking when we moved in April are, plus random 'doesn't have a home' crap.

All sorted!
The only things left to do are a few more kids toys and the loft.
The kids toys will have to be done on my day off once they're back at school and the loft is a huge job requiring a van or a skip so will be hopefully done towards end of Jan.
I'm still feeling enthusiastic and would like to start the painting tonight but apparently I have to have a nice meal and few drinks with dh seeing as its New Year's Eve! Wine

Skips are so expensive, I was shocked £120 where we are. I had to get two over the past few years as the house has been mostly gutted/doing it up, but I'd say I've saved getting one skip by slowly but surely putting rubbish in the regular bin. Lots of recycling/Gumtree/selling and charity shop too.

Report
hoopyloopycow · 31/12/2015 18:02

Yes we can't justify the expense really when it's not absolutely necessary.

You could order another bin from the council and use that for your extra rubbish.

Report
hoopyloopycow · 31/12/2015 18:24

They won't let us have extra normal refuse bins around here unless you are a 6+ person household, even then you only get a slightly bigger one. Stingy council.

Not in the UK but our bins are charged by weight so we get a skip every few years for our rubbish (non-household). It's not unusual or a luxury in our neck of the woods to get one.

We recycle and donate all the time. Nothing that anyone else would want or use will go into it. I'm quite looking forward to it coming now.

Congratulations hoopyloopycow you're almost there by the sounds of things! I'm a million miles behind you but will get there.

Another two dump trips here today. Elder dd's new bed built, managed to finally get all our clothes away now bedroom furniture is built (first time I've been able to find things since we moved two weeks ago), downstairs bathroom cleaned and new loo seat installed, stuff put in loft that needed to go. Only have one tiny room of boxes left to sort now phew.

VulcanWoman · 01/01/2016 08:50

Ah, that's annoying then.

listsandbudgets · 01/01/2016 17:52

Oh dear done nothing to clear out today and never got to DD's clothes yesterday. Spent all day cooking and shopping for our party tomorrow and still not nearly done. DP doesn't know how many he's invited Confused but based on last year we had 40 people.

Perhaps I should make them all take one thing each home with them Grin

Do you want to come and help me hoopyloopycow? You sound as if you're doing very well.

I have my MIL staying. If she says one more time "your problem lists is that you have too much stuff" I swear she'll be off to the charity shop herself (not really very fond of her actually).

BasinHaircut · 01/01/2016 21:08

I didn't get anything done today either due to a hangover.

I do have someone coming tomorrow to pick up the bed that I put on selling sites yesterday so I can start sorting that room.

I REALLY need to go food shopping tomorrow and have plans in the afternoon and in Sunday so probably won't get anything done until Monday now.

Cleared out my knicker drawer while watching Sherlock tonight Grin

Taking something / anything into the sitting room every evening to sort out with a drink and the tv on when the DC's have gone to bed.

Well done everyone!

Bed has gone and food shop done.

I even managed to clear out 2 kitchen cupboards AND take down the Xmas secs this afternoon so I'm well pleased.

Picking the wallpaper stripper up from a friend on our way home tonight so spare room can be stripped ASAP and we can assess whether we need the walls skimmed or not.
