Carrot juice stain on white shirt

DD came home from school on Friday covered in orange juice, she told me it was orange and carrot juice, following an accident in the canteen.

I pre-treated the stains with Vanish OxyAction for whites before washing it but there was no difference to the stain.

I've soaked it in Vanish Gold overnight before washing again and it's still just as bad.

I was just musing over it and said to DH that I think I might just give up and chuck it out, he said "what does Mumsnet say?". He's not all bad. Grin

I use sterilising fluid! Soak the stained area in it, then wash as usual

Biotex is good for this type of stain

Bleach.

Or peg it out on the washing line for a few days (would be less but it's November and wet!)

Another one for washing up liquid, especially Fairy. Otherwise, have you considered pure bleach?
On whites, I usually put bleach on the stain and let it soak for a while. Then rinse, and rinse and rinse again, before washing it as usual to get rid of the smell. (but rinse well, otherwise you may discolor other clothes)

You could try putting it on a sunny windowsill, if you have any south facing windows. Sunlight got rid of carrot stains from DD's clothes when she was weaning.

try rubbing washing up liquid into the stain before re-washing. Try rubbing with a household laundry soap bar e.g. vanish before re-washing.
