FLYing through March: Fledglings Assemble

Welcome to the March Fledgling FLYers thread

... where we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style) with lots of and chatting along the way.

This little-and-often system is designed so that we can follow a series of steps and routines each day (which gradually become second nature) in weekly designated zones of the house; defining and minimising housework - which in theory should leave us with more time to do other, more interesting things instead!

At the same time it is intended to reduce that panicky "rabbit in headlights" feeling we get when we are overwhelmed and everything needs doing all at once.

To avoid being inundated with details, we advise not signing up to the Big Tent

We are in the process of following Flylady's steps and routines using a three-pronged approach (dependent on the stage everyone is at):

  • start or repeat baby steps

  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

[And if you are really enthusiastic and have finished decluttering - you can go on to detailed deep cleaning in each zone.]

Flylady site here

Don't worry if you are behind; just jump right back in and it will all come around next month again anyway!

All the links for the babysteps and missions will be posted here every day and we'll all be here to cheer each other on.

Thanks to SC and Blue for leading us through January and February and for the brilliant OP I've just cut and pasted .

Let's get the old dust balls rolling for March!

Happy Easter fledglings. Thanks for leading the thread, Silvery, and apologies for being such a bad fledgling.

Don't think I will be around on the Flylady thread much for a while, but will pop in now and again to keep an eye on you all.

Silvery >"All of you who have been here for years are doing great to keep on track too" very very kind of you to say so but the two don't necessarily go hand in hand sadly [buwink] [bugrin] Enjoy your evening out!

Whoknows Same here, I've been baking a lot for dd recently, and I've eaten at least 60% of it!! Blush

Safe travelling Blue!

Good luck with Easter Flying Pushme and Engels and serious decluttering Wherechaos

Just hope you made your dead-line! (April being the new January and all that [buwink]

And big bunny bounces to everyone else! [bugrin]

Well, all I can say is "Waayyohhhhhhooooooohiphoooorahhhyipeeeee!!!"

[bugrin] [bugrin] [bugrin] and a Bear for good luck!

I've no idea what happened today but from out of the depths, after months and months of procrastination, mahoosive CBA-ness, gloom and despondancy; like a creature emerging from primordial sludge ... I got my mo-jo back today! [busmile] Yee-hah! Bounced out of bed [bushock], rampaged around the boudoir, rushed out to the butcher/baker/florist/pet shop/hairdresser, scrubbed the bathroom, tidied the dining and sitting room (including sorting a load of sewing ephemera), kicked the laundry in to touch, packed three suitcases, conscripted dh and dd in to helping me make 8 beds, cooked and ate supper for 8, watched The Voice, and now I only have 20 mins or so to go arranging Eastery-flowery-decoration-sideboard-thingy and I am ready for tomorrow!! Can't believe it - haven't felt that energetic for ages and ages!!

Hot cross buns didn't get done but we'll take the ingredients with us ...

Clocks go forward tomorrow don't they? Oh and it's the boat race tomorrow afternoon (although I think we might be on the road by then).

Happy Easter everyone!

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo [bgrin]

Been m1ss1ng due to do1ng some ser1ous declutter1ng. People are gett1ng donated stuff left, r1ght and centre. Poor ds 1s gett1ng most fed up. Well unt1l he real1sed that 1: he can now f1nd the stuff he wants and 2. he now has a whole new set of books that have come out of the loft because there 1s room for them to do so. Hopefully he has f1nally real1sed that 1 really am just try1ng to get r1d of the unused and broken stuff. negot1ated on stuff 1 had no 1ntent1on of gett1ng r1d to make h1m feel l1ke he was 1n control of some of 1t [bwink]

Loads of other fly1ng go1ng on but don't really want to slow the momentum down so really just a qu1ck pop 1n to say Hello and h1 before d1sappear1ng aga1n. And yes keyboard 1s broken. Marveous 1sn't 1t [bhmm]

Hello all, sorry for the low profile, I am around and will start April's thread sometime tomorrow.

Work's been interesting, was in the Sports Centre for the first couple of days, but yesterday & today was cleaning the bowling pavillion. It's been shut up for 6 months, apart from a cycle club using it (and not emptying bins etc) plus whoever was on the last shift last summer just left it. Binned 5 black bags today, scrubbed the kitchen, defrosted fridge yuck Thanks to Fat fairy, I did everything for about 15 mins, then did 15 mins of something else. It's just about all done, ready for Monday!

Dh is doing childcare as I'm out, so I won't say I have to start all over again when I get home but nearly! He's got used to me being home full time and doing it all. This week will be a shock for him, I'm going to start leaving lists with Dd,she'll make sure heroes it all Grin

Quite a good day here, when we weren't getting into ridiculous arguments with DS1. Got to get better at avoiding those! Hot cross buns were lovely toasted for lunch and we had fish & chips for a lazy Good Friday tea. [busmile]

We're off to my parents' tomorrow for Easter and then staying for a week while the bathroom's being done here, with DH coming home for work and to supervise the plumber. Not at all geared up for it so it's going to be a bit of a stressful morning I think.

Happy Easter to everyone if I don't get back on here before then. [busmile] Thanks
