5 year olds homework!

Hi, I didn't know if I was over reacting so I'd be grateful for some of your opinions before I go ahead and complain to the school! My 5 year old who is in year 1 at school came home with his new homework this week and one of the peices of homework in there is "write and send an email to the school to let them know what you did on the weekend" I thought this was very wrong to be asking a 5 year old to be emailing ?!?!

I'm guessing that would cover computing and literacy so not unreasonable, but if you arent happy just speak to the teacher

I only have one 2 year old at the moment but he facetimes his grandparents twice a week. In 3 years time I don't think I'd have any issue with him sending an email to school?!

What is your specific concern about this?
