Black bathroom wall tiles?

We are currently choosing tiles for our new bathroom, and I’d like to get some opinions! I was in a showroom today and on display they had a black wall tiled bathroom. It was very striking, as the tiles had a gold marble running through them. What’s everyone’s opinion on black? Our bathroom is only small, but has big windows so we get plenty of light...

We were going to go with a grey theme, but this made me rethink!

Only get them if you are prepared to hand buff them every day. I speak as a cleaner - step away!

No don't do it! Unless you're an OCD neat freak and even then it'll stress you out.
I remember we had black tiles when I was a child and mum was forever cleaning them. They looked terrible if they weren't clean
I myself had burgundy tiles which looked fabulous when clean and I had to religiously clean them off after every shower, such a pain...

No OP, step away from the black tiles!

Plus it can be like a giant mirror. Not what I need getting out of the bath...

Avoid if you live in a hard water area. They'll never look clean.

I wouldn't do it either. Large showrooms are not the same as a small bathroom; the lighting for example is usually far better than a domestic setting.

I can’t add a photo as this is my first post, but it’s a little bit like these - but wall only not floor! Is it too extreme?!
